Today, on International Men’s Day, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service celebrates ‘Positive Male Role Models’, the male officers who lead with strength, kindness, and integrity, inspiring others to strive for excellence. We honour fathers, brothers, uncles, mentors, teachers, and friends who uplift their families and communities every day. Their actions remind us of how the power of compassion, respect, and leadership play an immense role in the reduction of crime and the shaping of a brighter future for generations to come. #InternationalMensDay #myTTPS

Strengthening Partnerships for a Safer Tobago A high-level team engaged with the Tobago arm of the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce to address the growing concerns about crime on the island. Minister in the Ministry of National Security Keith Scotland, Commissioner of Police, Erla Harewood-Christopher, DCP Intelligence and Investigations Suzette Martin, and ACP Collis Hazel held discussions focused on strategic anti-crime measures essential for safeguarding citizens, businesses, and communities and restoring peace and safety to our sister isle. The TTPS is confident that collaborative efforts like these are crucial in combating rising criminal activities. The team also took time to conduct a walkabout throughout various communities across Scarborough, Black Rock, Roxborough, and Crown Point. They also visited five stations, where they met and engaged with the staff. During the visit, the team also had fruitful discussions with all senior officers on the island. By partnering with various entities and organizations, we enhance our ability to succeed in the fight against crime.

On Friday 5th, July, the Morvant Police Youth Club held a ceremony to celebrate the graduation of 15 students from the PUSH S.E.A program. PUSH, an initiative of the Morvant Police Youth Club, is a homework program designed to help SEA level students who are scoring less than 30 % in their school work, improve their performance so they can earn a passing grade by the time they sit the SEA exam. In its first year, the programme produced a 60% pass rate, moving to 75% and to 100% by its third year. This year, which is its fourth year in existence, the students have scored their highest marks yet. The result secured many of the students their first choice schools. According to WPC Stephens, the students worked hard this year, but the overwhelming success could not have been achieved this year without the support of the parents. “There is no doubt in my mind that this result could not have been achieved without parental involvement. With the full support of the parents, CPL Narine and WPC Stephens spearheaded the program to help these students achieve success. We congratulate the young scholars and look forward to supporting them as they head into secondary school.
