It's no secret that the 2024 Carter Work Project happened because of amazing homeowners, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, staff, and other dedicated folks. 🤩👏 During the week, we also used many tools and supplies, from forklifts to bottled water. Read on for a breakdown of many people and partners working together for one shared reason: because every family deserves a place to call home. 💙

In 2024, a volunteer group from St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church helped rehab a home in St. Paul. You may already know that volunteers help build and rehab houses for Habitat homeowners. But what’s unique about this project is that a crew from St. Andrew’s built the very same house in 2002! Two decades later they returned to prepare the home for a new Habitat family. 🏡

This year, Bridgette was able to buy a home through Twin Cities Habitat's new Advancing Black Homeownership Program. Now she has a safe, stable home for her grandson to visit anytime and a home that may one day be his. Bridgette was so inspired by her homebuying experience that she decided to volunteer with Habitat at The Heights in St. Paul—Twin Cities Habitat’s largest development ever.
