Are you considering being a part of the tens of GWs of energy storage planned to go live in #ERCOT in the coming years? Preparing to operate – then operating in a revenue maximizing manner - can feel daunting. While a lot of factors contribute to effective #energystorage asset operations, there are a few underlying principles that we recommend:     🎯 Start early! Hone your bidding strategy by running shadow simulations (bid your storage asset as though it were operating) and review performance. How much revenue did your approach return? How did it compare to peer assets? ⚖ Balance ancillary services with energy arbitrage to ensure you are optimizing for the highest potential market products each day – and protecting against Failure to Provide risk (running out of charge before an AS obligation committed to in the day ahead, rendering you unable to provide the promised capacity if it is called). 🔀 Leave flexibility for real time adjustments. The market is volatile. Top operators have the ability to adjust their approach (either by intervening or through an optimizer that accounts for real time fluctuations) so they don’t miss an unexpected peak.
