A Week in Seattle with Tyson & Mendes As the Office Manager for Tyson & Mendes’ locations in Colorado, Washington, and Nevada, my role keeps me on my toes—and I wouldn’t have it any other way! Last week, I had the privilege of overseeing the relocation of our Seattle office from 811 First Avenue to our new home at 600 Stewart Street. This wasn’t just another office move—it was an adventure. Seattle decided to throw in a little extra excitement with a bomb cyclone roaring through the area. (Yes, that’s a real meteorological term, and yes, it was as intense as it sounds!) But even the stormy skies couldn’t dampen our spirits. For someone who primarily works remotely, having the chance to meet the Seattle team face-to-face was a highlight of the year. I’m grateful to Managing Partner Sitar Bhatt, Gordon Klug, Scott Noel , Candice Nguyen Hamant , Mohammed Al-Maiahi and all the team for their warm welcome. Getting to know the team in person—hearing their insights and seeing the incredible work they do—reminded me why Tyson & Mendes is such an inspiring place to work. Traveling for work often gives you a fresh appreciation for home—I did find myself longing for the sunny days of my hometown! But, truth be told, a little piece of my heart now belongs to Seattle. The energy of the city, the resilience of the people, and the incredible coffee (of course!) left a lasting impression. T H R I V I N G with G R A T I T U D E I have intentionally entered gratitude week and the 2024 holiday season. This time of year, it is so easy for me to get caught up in the "shoulds" that I lose focus on the reason for the season. I attended a vision workshop with Frances Nuar last week and set my intentions for this special time of year. It may come as no surprise that the concept of THRIVING came up again for me. I pondered how I want to show up this holiday season in order to thrive instead of just strive. Here is what I know: 🍂 I am centered on my faith, my family, and my friends. 🍁 I am a capable co-captain of the ship (in my family and in my work). 🧡 I am calm and steady. 🍂 I am grateful and joyful. Our San Antonio office had the pleasure of volunteering at San Antonio Threads, an incredible organization that provides new clothing and essentials at no cost to at-risk young people aged 12 to 21. Their mission is to create a safe and nurturing shopping experience that helps young people feel valued and confident. Our team helped decorate the facility for the holiday season, adding festive touches that made the space warm and welcoming for the teens visiting during this special time of year. Each volunteer contributed to making the atmosphere bright and cheerful, bringing joy to the community.
