Senior leaders from PEO STRI took part in a panel discussion on capabilities and the future of US Army synthetic training during the Military Simulation Training Summit (MSTS) in Orlando, Florida, Feb. 25. Brig. Gen. Christine Beeler, Program Executive Officer, Marwane Bahbaz, Chief Technology Officer, and Nick Kioutas, Project Lead Enterprise Transformation and Integration (PL ETI), discussed FY-25 priorities, modernization and digital transformation, the rapid delivery of multi-domain operations training enablers, current opportunities for industry, and how PL ETI has been integrated across the PEO STRI enterprise. MSTS, formerly known as the Land Forces Training Summit, is an annual event in Orlando attended by more than 300 senior training commanders, procurement officers, and acquisitions leaders from across the United States Department of Defense as well as allied and partner nations. This year’s summit focused on how to train the modern Solider through simulation and synthetic training and examined how militaries are approaching interoperability with new technology. Members of the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) are at PEO STRI this week conducting a "Supportability Analysis Workshop" for our team of logistics managers. The two-day workshop is designed to discuss new ways of applying supportability analysis techniques to training capabilities currently being delivered by PEO STRI. Most importantly, the workshop will also give the PEO STRI logistics workforce additional tools to critically think and understand what is needed early in product support for an acquisition program to help improve operational readiness and affordability in sustainment. Beeler spoke about delivering unmatched training capabilities to ensure the preparedness and effectiveness of operational forces, provisioning cutting-edge capabilities to domestic and global training areas, and revolutionizing Soldier training and readiness for the challenges of tomorrow’s battlefield. The demand for skilled workers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) is rapidly growing and elementary school is the place to build the foundation for students who are interested in STEM careers. Whether it’s in the civilian world or in the US Army, STEM careers will put analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities to the test. Our STEM coordinator and other PEO STRI volunteers joined STEM coordinators from Team Orlando for "STEM Night" at Rainbow Elementary School in Winter Springs, Florida, on Jan. 30. Nick Kioutas, incoming Project Lead Enterprise Transformation and Integration (PL ETI), accepts the PL ETI charter and Army Acquisition Corps flag from our PEO, Brig. Gen. Christine Beeler, during an assumption of charter ceremony on Jan. 22. Our PEO, Brig. Gen. Christine Beeler, presented the Army Acquisition Corps flag and charter for Program Manager Cyber Test and Training (PM CT2) to Col. Natashia L. Coleman during an assumption of charter ceremony on Jan. 16. Coleman assumed the charter from Christina Bell, who had been serving as Acting Project Manager of PM CT2 for the past six months. PM CT2 serves as the Army’s single manager for developing and delivering cyber, test, threat, and training capabilities in support of DoD and Army modernization priorities. The office manages 80+ programs valued at more than $1 billion dollars with a workforce that includes well over 400 military, civilian government, and industry personnel in Orlando, Florida, and Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.
