We’re so grateful to have just received a generous shipment of midwife kits from our partners, Direct Relief, to support our ValueHer program in the nation of Nigeria! These kits, endorsed by the International Confederation of Midwives (ICM), will be distributed to midwives at our partner hospital, St. Charles Hospital and Maternity, Adoka. Each kit contains 61 essential items to support 50 safe births, empowering healthcare workers in rural communities to provide life-saving care. Nigeria has one of the highest numbers of maternal deaths in the world. Through the ValueHer initiative, U-VOL is dedicated to empowering the maternal health workforce by strengthening the capacity of midwives and additional healthcare workers across rural Nigeria. By providing health education, training, and essential tools, we are working to reduce maternal mortality in one of the world’s most challenging healthcare environments.
