Ukpeaġvik Iñupiat Corporation (UIC) was incorporated under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) as a Native Village Corporation on April 19, 1973, and is now one of Alaska’s largest companies with over 3,500 employees, and 40 active subsidiaries. UIC Oil & Gas Support, a company in the UIC Commercial Services division, added a new camp to its Deadhorse location this summer. The building is a home away from home for employees on rotation, and offers access to sleeping areas, a kitchen, and common areas for relaxing. UIC Oil & Gas Support provides a full range of onshore, near-shore and offshore oil and gas support services – from transporting people and freight to building thousands of miles of trail. The holiday, also known as International Circumpolar Inuit Day, was created to celebrate Inuit culture and amplify the voices of the Arctic’s original peoples. The holiday was established by the Inuit Circumpolar Council in 2006 at their general assembly in Utqiaġvik. AFN 2024 recap! This year’s AFN was a great one for UIC. We had many visit the UIC booth to inquire about jobs, pick up giveaway items, and ask questions about Shareholder Services and our corporation. Additionally, we were proud to be a part of North Slope Borough Mayor Josiah Patkotak’s nomination and acceptance of the Roger Lang Youth Leadership Award. Congratulations Mayor Patkotak!
