About us

As Illinois' only fully-accredited public health school, the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) School of Public Health strengthens health equity and social justice in neighborhoods in Chicago and communities around the world. With undergraduate, masters and doctoral programs, the School is preparing students to lead in public health practice and research locally and globally. Currently, the School is leading 95 funded projects from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the US Department of Health and Human Services and the National Institutes of Health. Faculty and students are engaged in practice and research in 64 nations around the world. MPH students are completing their applied practice experience in 21 countries. Our students are typical of UIC in that they seek to build stronger communities, leveraging the local knowledge in those communities to craft public health solutions to some of the world's most challenging health problems.
