1000 Days of Ukrainian Resilience On November 20, the Consulate General of Ukraine in San Francisco held a charity event “1000 Days of Resilience” dedicated to 1,000 days of Ukrainian resistance to full-scale Russian invasion. The reception aimed to commemorate the remarkable courage, strength, and unity of the Ukrainian people as they continue to stand bravely against the Russian full-scale invasion and draw the attention of government officials, politicians, diplomats, business leaders, representatives of universities, and non-profit organizations of California to the importance of continued support for Ukraine from the United States. "There is no justification for putting Ukraine and Russia on the same footing as “two sides of the war”. This is not a conflict between two parties. This is a war of aggression. Russia is the aggressor, and Ukraine defends itself. There can be no compromises on territorial integrity and sovereignty. Supporting Ukraine, President Zelenskyy’s Victory Plan and the Peace Formula, is the only realistic path to a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace for Ukraine and the world," stressed the Consul General of Ukraine in San Francisco Dmytro Kushneruk, who opened the event in the historic building of the San Francisco War Memorial Veterans Building, where the UN Charter was drafted and signed in 1945. The event participants were welcomed by the Adjutant General of the National Guard of the State of California Major General Matthew Beevers, International Affairs Advisor to California Lieutenant Governor Evan Reade, and the Chief of Protocol of the City and County of San Francisco Maryam Muduroglu, who emphasized on the constant support of Ukraine. Representatives from the CITY OF SONOMA also spoke at the event: Jack Ding, Sonoma City Council Member, and Sonoma Valley Fire Chief Steve Akre. During the event funds were raised to purchase and deliver an ambulance for Ukraine’s medical needs. As part of the event, Ukrainian and American singers and musicians performed: Ola Herasymenko, Anychka, Yana Musiyets, and Bohdan Andrukh. Visual art was also presented: an exhibition of renowned Ukrainian photographer Mykhaylo Palinchak; a master class of Petrykiv painting by Ukrainian artist Maryna Malyarenko, an immersive VR project "Living The War", developed by The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. Thanks to the partners of the event: Alcor, Allrise Capital, Empat, Solvd, Inc., Napa Valley to Ukraine, Grgich Hills Estate Winery, Ukrainian American House, and Sol Church!

🚀Ukraine’s First Defense Technology Showcase at #SFTechWeek by a16z! On October 11, 2024, about 300 experts and entrepreneurs gathered for "Ukrainian Defense Tech Night: Protect & Innovate," an event focused on defense technologies. It was held as part of the annual Tech Week innovation expo festival, with support from the Consulate General of Ukraine in San Francisco. This marked the first-ever Ukrainian #defensetech event in Silicon Valley. 🎥“We see a growing interest in defense tech in Silicon Valley. #VCfirms are hiring special teams focusing on defense only. But only in #Ukraine are real-time defense innovations possible. Our domestic defense production has significantly increased since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion. We have hundreds of teams of talented engineers working on these innovations on the battlefield. However, further growth requires foreign expertise, access to supply chains, and technology. And the main problem is the lack of capital. The answer from Silicon Valley could be in the launching of non-equity funds to support Ukrainian defense startups. 💵💵💵It will help Ukrainian companies to increase the actual production, fine-tune their products, grow in the domestic market, and support those who have a potential for global growth”, – noted Dmytro Kushneruk, Consul General of Ukraine in San Francisco. 💡The event’s main stage featured discussions on the key challenges facing the defense sector and the vital role of international partnerships in enhancing Ukraine's defense capabilities. Speakers included top experts, such as diplomats, entrepreneurs, and veterans: Dmytro Kushneruk, Gauthier Vasseur, Anton Borzov, Junaid Islam, Steve Taub, Artur Kiulian, Kostyantyn Shysh, Alexander Ravski. ⚔The event's organizers also announced the launch of Victoria, a venture studio aimed at driving innovation and strengthening the defense sector. "The top priority right now is building bridges between Ukraine and Silicon Valley," said Nazar Gulyk, founder of Empat and co-founder of the Victoria venture studio, explaining the event’s purpose. Four startups pitched innovative solutions, including unmanned systems, anti-drone technologies, and other defense innovations. 🚩"Ukrainian Defense Tech Night: Protect & Innovate" resulted from the collaboration between the Victoria studio, UkraineNow, and other Ukrainian partners, including the Consulate General of Ukraine in San Francisco, IT Ukraine Association, BRAVE1, and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

Ukraine showcased the first-ever national pavilion at the Commercial UAV Expo in Las Vegas The first Ukrainian collective pavilion opened at the Commercial UAV Expo in Las Vegas, North America's largest exhibition and conference dedicated to commercial drones and UAV technologies, with support from the Consulate General of Ukraine in San Francisco. "Today, Ukraine leads the development of UAV technologies. The Russian war in Ukraine began over ten years ago. And for much of this period, our people with limited resources have been compelled to build unmanned technology to deal with far larger opponents. We know how to design, develop, manufacture, grow, and manage a fleet of millions. It is a prospective market for the US-Ukraine collaboration. Please support Ukraine with your orders, new partnerships, and investments”, said the Consul General of Ukraine in San Francisco, Dmytro Kushneruk at the panel discussion during CUAV. The pavilion covers all areas, including drone and component manufacturing, communication modules and systems, anti-drone solutions, navigation systems, accessories, and software. The pavilion's participants include Bavovna.ai, Radio Bird, Piranha-Tech, Kara Dag Technologies, Boxo, FreeUA, FarmFleet, and DroneUA. Futurology is the co-organizer. During a visit to Salt Lake City, the First Lady met with businessmen and philanthropists, urging them to get involved in Ukraine's recovery. Olena Zelenska thanked everyone for helping our country and spoke about the consequences of the July 8 Russian shelling, which destroyed one of the buildings of the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital in Kyiv. She explained how, thanks to cooperation with American philanthropists, the Olena Zelenska Foundation is implementing projects to arrange school shelters, provide students with gadgets for distance learning, build housing for large foster families, and create educational classes at hospitals – "Schools of superheroes". "There was such a school at Okhmatdyt on Monday morning. But it no longer exists. One classroom was completely destroyed after a direct missile hit. Another one – an educational space for preschoolers – was severely damaged. Fortunately, no children or teachers were injured. The Foundation has committed to restoring the destroyed educational space at Okhmatdyt hospital," the First Lady said.
