About us

The Unfunded List provides feedback and recognition to the best unfunded grant proposals. To help unfunded change agents develop their programs and proposals we issue an RFP twice a year requesting unfunded proposals from all over the world, covering every social issue. Almost 150 impressive and experienced evaluation committee members provide individual feedback on every proposal we receive. The team at Unfunded List then collates this feedback into useful reports for each applicant and follows up to help implement the suggestions and feedback. Whenever possible we offer direct connections and introductions to interested funders. Every six months our board of directors votes to update our list of the best Unfunded proposals.

Unfunded List | Philanthropy, Judaism, Golf, Voluntarism, and the Arts

Attention DC philanthropy community! In these turbulent times for our sector, we need opportunities to come together and keep our networks and skills strong. The fundraising and philanthropy world is facing unprecedented challenges, with massive federal funding cuts already wreaking havoc with more turbulence on the horizon. Many of us are feeling overwhelmed and concerned about the future of philanthropy. But there is hope, and together we can make a difference. I'm excited to be returning to Washington, DC next week for a crucial event on March 8th: Reviewers United: A Gathering of Philanthropy Professionals In partnership with Spur Local (formerly the Catalogue for Philanthropy), we're offering this FREE event as an opportunity to roll up our sleeves and get involved. As the landscape of philanthropy evolves, we need experienced and well-trained proposal reviewers to keep the funding flowing to deserving causes. It's particularly important that community members and those most affected by issues are participating in proposal review and helping advise nonprofits and funder as they make critical funding decisions. What to expect at Reviewer's United: - Engaging discussions on grant reviewing in this challenging climate - Networking with passionate professionals facing similar challenges - Tips for reading budgets and financial informaton - A conversation about bias and trust while reviewing proposals - Another edition of our popular "Feedback on the Feedback" series where we hear from organizations who have benefitted from our review. - Delicious empanadas! (It wouldn't be an Unfunded List even without great food) Whether you're a seasoned philanthropist, nonprofit leader, or just starting your journey in this field, your expertise and passion are needed now more than ever. I'm looking forward to a day filled with meaningful conversations, reunions, and most importantly, action. Let's come together to shape the future of philanthropy in these uncertain times. Register now to join us for this empowering experience. #DCPhilanthropy #NonprofitResilience #ReviewersUnited #PhilanthropyAction

I am looking forward to our event next month. Unfunded List has partnered with Spur Local to host a proposal reviewer training day for both of our reviewing committees on March 8th. The space is booked and the catering contract is signed. We will be covering a variety of topics ranging from budgets to biases. The event is free and available to members of both evaluation committees. Not a member yet? Not a problem. Join one or both committees and we'll be happy to have you. Spur Local's review period is this March. Unfunded List's review period is this April and May. You could be reviewing proposals all Spring and help dozens of nonprofits grow! DM me or comment below if you have any questions about the event or reviewing grant proposals.

Working on a grant proposal? You should send it to Unfunded List. The deadline is March 15th. https://lnkd.in/eRsb-8P

  • "You can send us any grant proposal you want." Our official RFP (request for proposals) comes out next week. In this short, Dave and Margaret talk about what kinds of grant proposals we review (hint: all of them).

  • "Are you a grantmaker with a lot of proposals? We'd love to help you review them." Every round of proposal review here at Unfunded List is made up of 4 phases with 4 steps to each phase. Having completed our 2024 reviews we are starting over at the beginning. Here, our founder Dave Moss and our board chair Margaret Chapman explain the first step of our application phase - finding partnerships.
