Opening the Door to Infinite Possibilities!

About us

Since 1919, Union League Boys & Girls Clubs have opened doors of opportunity and prepared young people for a great future. We see infinite possibilities in every young person and are committed to being a voice for all youth in Chicago, no matter what. Union League Boys & Girls Clubs is at the forefront of youth development and has a vast and diverse footprint. We currently have a total of 21 sites providing a physical space that’s safe, welcoming, and fun for over 13,000 Chicago youth. Union League Boys & Girls Clubs’ sites include a collaborative program for justice-involved youth with the Cook County Juvenile Detention Center and a 247-acre residential summer camp in Wisconsin. No matter why they enter our Clubs, young people are immersed in the knowledge that the club experience provides an encouraging environment where they can be who they are - and who they are meant to be. Studies show that the next generation of youth will have fewer opportunities than the previous generation for the first time in history. We work daily to provide an environment where youth can pursue programs in our three core program areas: Academic Success, Good Character and citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles, all while under the guidance of caring, trained, trustworthy youth development professionals. Chicago’s youth deserve nothing less than our constant focus on their safety and our firm commitment to protecting every child entrusted to our care. Union League Boys & Girls Clubs is a place for kids to laugh. A place to learn. A place to grow. A place to belong.

With nearly 40 years dedicated to serving Chicago’s youth, Hector has expanded programs at 19 locations, enhanced partnerships with CPS, and established impactful teen initiatives, including at the Juvenile Detention Center. Beyond his dedication at the club level, Hector serves on the BGCA National Safety Advisory Committee and volunteers at Keystone Conferences. His leadership has earned recognition across Chicago, including awards like the Maytag Dependable Leader and the Chicago Cubs’ recognition for his service to youth. Hector, thank you for inspiring us all and mentoring countless professionals along the way! Congratulations on this well-deserved award! 🏆👏

  • 💙 Feel Good Friday 💙 Thank You to the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association for spending their Community Impact Day at our Barreto Club & Club One. "Blue Cross CEO Kimberly Keck said that company's annual community impact day is about supporting people's health and well-being" - Chicago Sun-Times. Over a hundred BCBSA volunteers helped to beautify Barreto Club and Club One by organizing, landscaping, changing bulletin boards, and adding a fresh coat of paint. We are grateful that BCBSA spent their Community Day of Impact with us! It takes a village, BCBSA; thank you for being a part of our village! #GreatFuturesStartHere
