Thanksgiving Holiday Closure: All Union City Administrative Offices, inclusive of City Hall, will be closed on Thursday, November 28th, 2024, and Friday, November 29th, 2024. In observance of the Holiday, all Non-essential staff will leave on Wednesday, November 27th, 2024 at 1 PM. PLEASE NOTE: Water Payments can be put in the drop box in the side parking lot of City Hall. All payments must be placed in an envelope with the account number and name. NO CASH is accepted in the drop box.

Holiday Safety Tip: Feasting with family is part of many holiday celebrations. Follow these simple tips to help prevent food poisoning or foodborne illnesses. 1. Always use a clean cutting board for fresh produce and a separate one for raw seafood, meat, and poultry. Never place cooked food back on the same plate or cutting board that previously held raw food. 2. When serving food, be mindful of proper temperature control. Keep cold foods at 40 °F or below and hot foods at 140 °F or above. 3. Discard any food left at room temperature for over 2 hours. (1 hour if the temperature was above 90 °F) 4. Store leftovers in shallow containers (2 inches deep or less). Reheat leftover food to 165°F and consume within 1-3 days. #happyholidaysUC #safetytips #familytime

Last night's council meeting congratulates the graduates of Citizens Academy. Throughout the Academy, participants engaged in enlightening discussions and activities led by department leaders, City management, and elected officials. The diverse curriculum covered crucial facets of City government, including Public Safety and Code Enforcement, Court Services, Fire Safety and prevention, Community and Economic Development, Public Services, Parks and Recreation, and City Administration. Attending the Citizen's Academy is more than an accomplishment; it's an excellent opportunity for UC residents to connect with and comprehend the dynamic environment in which they live, work, play, and stay. Here's to a future filled with informed and active citizenship. Also, the Growing Together team shared their initiatives to keep Union City green. The group discusses current and ongoing projects, such as landscaping, informative DIY planting, and recognition for the local residents.
