A holiday message from UNITE-LA President Alysia Bell: As we approach the holiday season and bid farewell to 2024, I want to express my deepest gratitude to each of you. At UNITE-LA, we are honored to collaborate with incredible partners who share our commitment to equitable economic mobility through education and workforce development. This year, we’ve made remarkable strides: - The LA Regional Cleantech Career Academy continues to grow, bringing diverse perspectives to tackle challenges like climate change. - The L.A. Region K-16 Collaborative is expanding equitable pathways to health care, engineering, and computer science careers for students of color. - Through LA DEAL, we’ve strengthened partnerships to close the digital divide in Los Angeles. - We welcomed 10 new board members and 8 talented individuals to our team, who will help us further drive regional systems change. As we celebrate these achievements, we know there’s more work ahead. Together, we will continue responding to our community’s most pressing needs in 2025 and beyond. Wishing you a joyful holiday season filled with love and connection. Thank you for being part of this journey with us! https://bit.ly/41MwRim

UNITE-LA was thrilled to be a part of California Forward’s recent Economic Summit, and our President – Alysia Bell - said it best: “It’s wonderful to be able to connect with folks doing similar or aligned work in other regions to share promising and best practices. But also, the content [of the summit] is phenomenal.” The 2024 California Economic Summit in Sacramento convened almost 900 participants from various sectors to discuss big ideas and bold solutions. UNITE-LA is proud of our ongoing work related to the triple bottom line (economy, equity and environment) - and we appreciate the opportunity for Alysia to serve on CA FWD’s Leadership Council and as the co-chair of California Stewardship Network’s Executive Committee. November Newsletter Highlight! Last month, UNITE-LA team members traveled to San Diego to support Talent Rewire's SoCal Action Lab cohort. The two-day session celebrated six months of hard work with cross-industry employers, focusing specifically on disrupting talent systems to meet long-term workforce and business needs. As Technical Assistance Providers, UNITE-LA played a key role in helping California companies—like Rancho Bernardo Inn, San Diego Humane Society, and Park Lane Jewelry—develop equitable, frontline worker supports. We’re excited to watch as the companies gear up to launch their pilot programs over the next few months. Check out our other November highlights: https://bit.ly/4hPgt6k
