This competition seeks to transform the hospitality sector by contributing sustainable projects and solutions with a positive impact for companies, people, and the planet. In this challenge, Torres Brandy calls on Bar Owners, Bar Managers, and Bartenders around the world to submit their sustainable bar initiatives to promote a new mind-set in mixology that prioritizes the environment. The Torres Brandy Zero Challenge is the first international competition to present an award to the world’s most sustainable cocktail bar project. The winner of the National Final will then move on to represent the US in the International Final in Barcelona, Spain this spring. Almost every drink has one, but the origin of the origin story is its own adventure. Some are fairly clear: New York City bartender Sam Ross created the penicillin.
