Long-Read Sequencing Made Simple

About us

Universal Sequencing Technology focuses on innovative Long-Read DNA Sequencing solutions. Our Tell-Seq technology simply turns a 2nd generation DNA sequencer into a 3rd gen, Long-Read Sequencer. The affordable TELL-Seq WGS library prep kit is used in Metagenomics, de novo Assembly, Whole Genome Phasing, and Structural Variant identification. We provide the kit and the analysis pipeline and all you need are the samples and some common lab equipment. No need to buy expensive 3rd generation sequencers. No need to buy droplet making equipment. No need to follow overly complicated protocols. No longer limited by genome size. The Tell-Seq WGS Library Prep kit is affordable without the added expense of an instrument. The protocol takes only 3 hours to run and can be used for genomes ranging from 1 Mb to 5 Gb. Again, this is Long-Read Sequencing Made Simple.

Dear Friends, We have exciting news for those interested in metagenomics and microbiome analysis! Universal Sequencing is thrilled to announce the launch of our new TELL-Seq metagenomics software pipeline. You can find the press release below. https://lnkd.in/gA-FKcvM By combining this software with our proprietary TELL-Seq linked read library preparation kits, you can leverage your short-read NGS platforms, like Illumina and Element Bio sequencers, for long-read applications—no long-read sequencer needed. The TELL-Seq linked read technology is an ideal solution for microbiome discovery, offering exceptional accuracy, cost-effectiveness, and throughput, along with ultra-low DNA input requirements. The software is now available for download on our website (https://lnkd.in/gDyzfP8V) under Resources/Software, along with a user guide and an application note. We encourage you to try it out and hope you find it beneficial for your projects, particularly for large-scale metagenomics and microbiome analyses involving unknown species. Best regards, Universal Sequencing Technology

Congratulations to our phenomenal team for the publication of an assay that achieves high-quality long-read results on 2-200kb genomic targets using a short-read sequencer (#TELLSeq developed by #UST). Special recognition to Veronika Mi and Madison Rzepka, our talented and youngest scientists, who co-led this work. It has been an absolute joy witnessing their dedication to this project and their spectacular professional growth along this journey. Of course, none of this would have been possible without the nurturing support and experience of seasoned scientists Tetsuya Kawamura and Yu Xia, as well as the dedication of an entire team: Peter Chang, Amber Paasch, Ph.D., Long Pham, Naisarg Modi, Ming Lei, Yong Wang, PhD, PMP, and Zhoutao (Tom) Chen. I am also grateful to our industry and academic partners, whose collaboration was instrumental in this achievement: Shiguo Zhou and Chris Boles from #SageScience, Likun Yao from #UCSanDiego, and Adrián Pérez Agustín and Sara Pagans from the Universitat de Girona. https://lnkd.in/dXuAHAtq

  • Congratulations to all authors for the excellent works done with UST AmpliDrop single cell technology!

Congratulations to Gabriela Goldberg for her recent paper. You have now become the first official #AmpliDrop user. AmpliDrop, developed by #UST, is the first #singlecell sequencing technology that can reliably profile a transcriptome with the use of a single barcode molecule. It is a barcoded bead-free, combinatorial indexing-free technology that can drive discoveries for those who do not want to pay more than necessary for their #singlecell experiments. I have had the privilege of working with an amazing team of dedicated, hard-working, and talented scientists who have put in a tremendous amount of effort and passion into developing AmpliDrop. Representing this team of scientists, kudos in particular to Guoya Mo and YuXia, who have worked tirelessly and enthusiastically for three full years to bring this technology to fruition (Donna Wu, Immanuel Mekuria, Madison Rzepka, Joy Wang, Devin Porter, Peter Chang, Long Pham, Yong Wang, PhD, PMP, Ming Lei, Zhoutao (Tom) Chen). Thanks also to our academic partners, who support us unconditionally (Angels Almenar-Queralt, Alysson Muotri). https://lnkd.in/dQXhqFP4
