After over 30 years of practice, Dr. Gregory DeLaurier, a highly respected and board-certified colon and rectal surgeon, is retiring effective December 31, 2024. Dr. DeLaurier’s retirement marks the conclusion of a remarkable career dedicated to the health and well-being of patients across the Athens community and beyond. Says Dr. DeLaurier, "It has been an honor and a privilege to serve the Athens community and care for so many incredible patients over the years. While it is bittersweet to step away from my practice, I am confident that my patients will continue to receive exceptional care from Dr. Fia Yi and Dr. Thomas Ward." Please join us in wishing Dr. DeLaurier a wonderful retirement!

Get to know Dr. Fia Yi! 🔹 Dr. Yi is double board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. 🔹 A graduate of Emory University in Atlanta, GA, Dr. Yi received degrees in biology and music. 🔹 She previously served as the Air Force Surgeon General’s consultant for Colorectal surgery as well as Division Chief of Colorectal Surgery prior to separating from the Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel. 🔹 In her spare time, she enjoys spending time hiking, exercising, and cooking.
