The Udall Center's primary mission is to facilitate, analyze, and provide evidence-based options for solutions to major policy issues through research, education, and public service. The Center specializes in issues related to environmental policy and Indigenous nations policy, bridging disciplines and connecting backgrounds to create a comprehensive understanding of the impacts and further development of public policies.
📣Meet Professor Gemma Smith!!👏

✨ Polycentric Governance ✨ Ecology of Games Framework's ✨ System-Level and Individual Drivers of Policy Learning
👉What👏Does👏This👏Mean👏?
Welp, UC's Andrea Gerlak (utilizing the Delta Stewardship Council as a case study) has the answer❗
📊In order to maintain a strong scientific foothold in future environmental & social studies we must push towards the dissemination and integration of policy information that's easily digestible and multi-disciplinary in nature🏞️
There is so much more to it and it's an incredibly interesting study that we encourage anyone and everyone to read!📖

"Water for All" – A conversation with Prof. Andrea Gerlak, professor at the University of Arizona and director of the university's Udall Center for Studies in Public Policy. The water policy expert discussed successful strategies for managing water, particularly during droughts, and emphasized the crucial role of cooperation.
She identified a key issue in water quality, which is severely threatened by PFAS chemicals—contaminants that enter water systems and are extremely difficult to remove.
Prof. Gerlak underscored that water policy requires more than just technical solutions: it demands fair governance. Her approach, "Water for All," highlights the need to consider not only economic but also social and cultural aspects of water to promote justice and sustainability.
💥Thank you to Dr. Maura Allaire with the ASU School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning for guest starring at the Udall Center❗
🚰We greatly appreciate your talking with our faculty, partners, and fellows about water infrastructure needs in unincorporated communities!🏘️
