About us
TRADOC recruits, trains, and educates Soldiers, develops leaders, supports training in units, develops doctrine, establishes standards, and builds the U.S. Army by developing and integrating operational and functional concepts and organizational designs for the fielded force. TRADOC is a learning organization that evolves and adapts. When we say "Victory Starts Here," it means something. It's more than a hashtag. It's the training, maintaining, teamwork, morale and discipline we put in place to develop young people into Army professionals. TRADOC is about people and preparing them to be ready to win on any battlefield. Nobody in the world develops people or builds Soldiers for Life as well as TRADOC.

Private motor vehicle mishaps result in more Soldier fatalities than any other type of mishap. The US Army loses approximately 10 Soldiers during the holiday season, with most at the rank of PFC/SPC/W2. An average of six of those fatalities occur in private motor vehicles. Data from the Army Readiness Assessment Program (ARAP) shows that units that prioritize safety and implement an effective safety culture experience fewer off-duty mishaps. The Off-Duty Safety Awareness Presentation has proven effective for leaders looking to talk to their Soldiers beyond the standard safety brief. You can access this brief, as well as the Small Unit Leader Cards, at www.safety.army.mil. #VictoryStartsHere #ArmySafety #ReadinessThroughSafety #HolidayBlockLeave US Army Combat Readiness-Safety Center

Have you ever wondered why you hear a bugle playing taps every evening on Army bases around the world? Playing taps is a tradition going back to the Civil War when the tune was first heard at Harrison’s Landing, Virginia, in July 1862. Taps is well known for its frequent playing at memorial ceremonies, but its original purpose was to signal to Soldiers to “extinguish lights,” signaling the end of the day.
