Our latest research in partnership with Allstate and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce reveals that every $1 spent on resilience in #Sacramento saves nearly $11 in economic savings, damages, and cleanup costs. This means preserving jobs, incomes, and helping communities bounce back faster from disasters. American Express, in collaboration with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, launched the Small Business Hurricane Recovery grant program to support small businesses like Hendersonville Toy Company, a family-owned toy, book and game store, rebuild and recover. As a grant recipient, they hope to use the funding to maintain their business through an uncertain holiday revenue season in the wake of Hurricane Helene and pay it forward by supporting local toy drives for families who have also experienced losses. To address the #childcare shortage in Crawfordsville, Indiana, Mayor Todd Barton is leading a community-wide task force with businesses, government, and nonprofits working together on sustainable solutions.
