  • A look back at a couple sessions led by Vince Ganzberg, our Director of Coach Education, at this year's United Soccer Coaches Convention in Chicago, IL. 👀   His field and classroom session topics, focused on helping coaches create a process driven approach, were developed from watching coaches focus too heavily on outcome. The primary question presented to attendees was: “How do you take educational theory and bring it to life on the field?” We have so many educational theories, but at the end of the day it is important to create an environment where players can build on their autonomy, competency and confidence. “A piece of paper doesn’t make you a great coach. What makes a great coach is when a player knows that you believe in them.” #Chicago2025

  • 🔦 Employee spotlight: Albert Capitan 🔦 Albert, our senior graphic designer, is a finalist in a mural competition at a local music venue here in Charleston, S.C. 𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙥! Albert was one of 18 artists selected to paint a mural at the Charleston Pour House around the theme of live music. It's a popular, annual competition that celebrates the local art scene and increase the exposure of these talented artists. "For this mural, I aimed to capture the energy and vibe I experience when attending a live show at the Pour House," Albert said. "I wanted to convey how that energy can feel otherworldly, almost transporting us during a performance, with the bright, bold colors of the stage lights emphasizing the power and presence of the musicians on stage." Since joining US Club Soccer a couple years ago, Albert has quickly made an impact, bringing his creativity to our digital media channels and events. Remember those super cool cornhole boards at last summer's NPL Finals and National Cup Finals? Or the mural next to the stage? Or how about our "Relax and Enjoy the Game" comic strips (https://lnkd.in/edH4jbsd)? Or the graphic series showing the clubs in each NPL member league? That's all Albert. So, back to the task at hand. You can help Albert win this competition by voting for his design here: https://lnkd.in/eQCJWK8g The winner gets bragging rights, a year of free shows at the venue and a lil cash prize (yeah, next staff happy hour will be on him). Thanks for your support!

  • Time to give our VP of Education & Development, Dr. Missy Price, a shout! 👏 Dr. Price was a presenter of two sessions at this year’s United Soccer Coaches Convention in Chicago, IL. Her first session, titled: “Collaboration vs. Competition” was presented alongside US Youth Soccer’s Sari Rose, and focused on the organizations’ joint efforts to improve the game in areas like accessibility, coach development, sideline behavior and more. Her second session, titled: “Developing Women Leaders in Soccer” was presented alongside a panel of female leaders across the soccer landscape. The session focused on the growth of the women’s game across the country and the importance of having women in leadership roles in soccer beyond just coaching. Helping women realize that there are so many opportunities to stay in the game, or come back to the game, after a playing career ends was a key takeaway from this session. Soccer can be that gift that keeps on giving. 🎁 Stay tuned for more content from this year’s Convention. #Chicago2025
