Meta layer of SaaS tools to help people work better, not more
About us
The way we work today is determined by constant context switches and distractions caused by more and more (remote) work tools, which results in lack of focus and higher levels of stress. Beams is a mindful new work solution that learns about your personal work routine and intelligently suggests deep work blocks where distractions are eliminated and it reminds you to take breaks at the right time. As a meta layer of your work tools, Beams consolidates and prioritizes your emails, messages and notifications and delivers them to you one by one so that you can focus better.

🌟 A big thank you to our incredible beams summer interns, Marcus and Aidan! 🌟 As we wrap up a fantastic 10-week journey, Mihri Minaz and I want to take a moment to express our gratitude to Marcus and Aidan, our two stellar interns from the University of Chicago. Marcus, with a background in Statistics and Computer Science, has truly been a jack of all trades. From diving into product discovery, and analytics, and contributing to data science projects, to even rolling up your sleeves and writing code - your versatility have been invaluable to our team. Aidan, studying Economics paired with a Philosophy minor, brought a unique perspective to our go-to-market and growth strategies. You have driven forward so many growth initiatives, and your thoughtful approach has left a lasting impact. We are thankful that Founderland made us aware about ChicagoU's Metcalfe scholarship program, which allowed Marcus and Aidan to move to Berlin for the summer to work onsite with us. It's been a pleasure having you both on board, and we're excited to see where your journeys take you next. Keep shining, and we hope our paths cross again in the future!

In his latest newsletter, Lenny Rachitsky shares ten productivity techniques he swears by (hint: our beams Mac app covers nearly all of them). 1. Using the calendar for to-dos 2. Keeping a “waiting for” list 3. If it takes less than two minutes, I just do it 4. Each morning, writing down the top 1-3 things I want to get done that day 5. Setting up, and fiercely protecting, regular deep work time 6. No meetings before 3pm 7. Keeping Do Not Disturb mode on 8. Keeping work async 9. Using a virtual assistant to take on low-impact work 10. Saying no more often, even when it’s hard At beams, we resonate deeply with this list, as it's perfectly aligned with our productivity philosophy. While some of the points above require no app, our Mac Menu Bar App has you covered for everything else. What time management techniques actually work for you?

🔐 beams is now CASA compliant 🔐 We recently received the 𝗔𝗽𝗽 𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲’𝘀 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗖𝗔𝗦𝗔) 𝗧𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝟮, a must for apps using Google APIs with sensitive or restricted scopes. This process can be confusing for so many companies and especially small startups, so our backend engineer Emrah Bayraktaroglu took the time and wrote about it (link in comments). The blog post includes the public (google sheet) templates for the to-do list, and progress tracker to help you navigate CASA Tier 2 verification for your Google Cloud app. Hope it can guide on your review -and us next year for the annual review again ;) Let's keep user data secure together! #GoogleCloud #appsecurity
