    This webinar with Blue Ridge was a blast, thinking about the early days of my career as a DSR. I’m not sure if I was aware at the time, but way back when I was slingin’ groceries for US Foods in Scottsdale, the relationships I maintained with the buyers, specialists, and category managers was CRITICAL to getting things done. This is my 'back in my day' old man rant... 👇 Back then (not that long ago, kids...) the technology was SO LIMITED that I couldn’t see live inventory - That was only sync'd up when I was plugged in and ran a special 'Daily' and 'Nightly' routine from my modem. That I had to plug into my laptop. With a wire! So, if I wanted to touch base with the buyer to see whats up throughout the day, my crusty old laptop didn’t even identify them by name in our system… there was a number associated with each buyer. I plugged those numbers into my Motorola flip phone so that i could just dial up 806 for Amanda, or 807 for denise. I looked this morning and they're still in my phone lol! Oh, I remember the days!
