As people around the world increase their earnings, they also increase their consumption of animal proteins. Consequently, more soybean meal is needed. USDA analysts project that by 2033, global soybean meal trade will increase by 10.7% to 81.3 MMT. Discover how #USSoy is poised to meet this growing demand at: https://hubs.ly/Q02_k1l50

It’s #TradeTeamTuesday – The Turkey Biotechnology Trade Team trip brought together key representatives from the Turkish government, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), universities and private industry. Participants traveled to Missouri, Maryland and Washington, D.C. to gain deep insights into biotechnology, agriculture and regulatory processes for U.S. Soy. Dr. Nicholas Kalaitzandonakes of the University of Missouri provided training on the history, present and future impact of biotechnology, while visits to Bayer Crop Science and Corteva Agriscience. Chesapeake Farms showcased the latest biotech advancements in agriculture. A tour of Scott Farms in Wentzville, Missouri, offered a practical perspective, showing how U.S. Soy farmers are successfully integrating biotech into soybean production. Mark Scott showcased his sustainable production practices and emphasized the significant advantages of biotech seed, such as reduced pesticide use and improved crop health. Visits to the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) and the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative were equally valuable for the Turkish government representatives, providing a clear view of how the U.S. government collaborates with seed companies and supports agricultural innovation. Overall, the trip underscored that biotechnology is a crucial tool for agricultural development and innovation. This experience will play a key role in shaping biotechnology regulations in Turkey. Thank you to the Missouri Soybeans Association for helping facilitate visits. #USSoy #Biotechnology Mizzou College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources - CAFNR

Today is World Soil Day! As stewards of the soil who produce the world’s most sustainable soy, U.S. soybean farmers help support nutrition security for a growing world. One way U.S. soybean farmers protect and preserve soil is by practicing conservation tillage, which leaves at least 30% of the plant residue on the field following harvest. Less tillage contributes to healthier soil full of nutrient-rich organic matter which in turn helps produce higher yields per hectare of land. #USSOY #WorldSoilDay #SoilBiodiversity #SustainableAgriculture

It’s #TradeTeamTuesday – The Americas High Oleic Soybean Oil Trade Team visited the U.S. with a focus on industrial applications and high oleic soybean oil (HOSBO) for frying applications. Key supply chain stops including producers, traders, academia, government, research, exporters and more informed their trip and their understanding of the myriad of U.S. Soy benefits. Crushers, refiners, food processors as well as hotel, restaurant and industrial soybean oil users from Mexico, Colombia, Dominican Republic and El Salvador traveled to Chicago and then Columbia, Jefferson City and St. Louis, Missouri, in their quest for an inside look at the American soybean oil market. Presentations and updates from Omni Tech International, SOYLEIC non-GMO high oleic trait, Soy Nutrition Institute (SNI) Global and The Redwood Group LLC sparked lively discussions and engagement on HOSBO potential and innovations from the entire team. A stop at the Commodity & Ingredient Hedging (CIH) office in Chicago afforded the group an expert look at global and domestic market trends and projections, while a visit to USSEC headquarters in St. Louis gave a window into the supply chain with an exclusive look at a high oleic oil comparison study and updates from the United Soybean Board. The DeLong Co., Inc. stopped in to share insights from their vast network of grain terminals, elevators and river ports. Trips into the field took the team to the heart of cutting-edge soy developments with tours of the Center for Soy Innovation the Farm for Soy Innovation. The group saw soy advocacy at work with a tour of the Missouri State Capitol, and got a firsthand look at U.S. Soy production with a visit to Warren Stemme Farms in Chesterfield, Missouri, where they heard about sustainable production practices and what drives sustainability for American farmers. The team left with a deeper understanding of the variety of products that can be developed with soy derivatives as well as the benefits of high oleic soybean oil as an option for deep frying applications and as a more stable oil. Shoutout to Illinois Soybean Association and Missouri Soybeans for providing state soy updates and facilitating the tours! #USSoy
