Take a trip into our Macromolecular Biointerfaces Laboratory where we hear from Gabriela Romero Uribe about the work she does in Chemical and Biomedical Engineering. From studies that focus on Neuroblastoma to Parkinson's Disease to auditory anxiety disorders (common in veterans), Uribe and her students develop tools to help understand the brain and how brain cells communicate. All of our programs offer curricula that combine a strong theoretical background with hands-on experience in excellent labs, with a focus on teamwork and communication skills. Klesse College’s world-class faculty members hail from such prestigious institutions as Massachusetts Institute of Technology, John Hopkins University, Cornell University, The University of Texas-Austin, Texas A&M, Carnegie Mellon University, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Purdue University, University of Illinois, University of California at Berkeley, and Rice University. Our professors are citizens of the world, coming to Texas from countries including India, Turkey, China, Egypt, Mexico, Spain and Colombia, just to name a few. Students who choose UTSA have the opportunity to interact one-on-one with top-rate faculty members in both the classroom and in research laboratories, creating an atmosphere that is truly conducive to learning. Cutting-edge research in a wide range of areas such as energy, cloud computing, materials, and biomedicine, architecture, urban planning and historic preservation is federally and state funded at UTSA. To aid the economic development of the nation, the college also works closely with industry. It is our goal to have 100% of our students take part in experiential learning outside of the classroom before they graduate so that they can get a feel for what it is like to apply their curricular knowledge to a real-world, engineering experience. Klesse College prepares students for lifelong learning and careers in engineering professions and has been ranked for five years in a row as being among the top 10 best graduate schools for Hispanics.

Buckle up. We're on a rocket ride! This month, we launched the UTSA Center for Space Technology and Operations Research, a new research center dedicated to advancing engineering, technology and operations that will support space missions between the Earth and the Moon, an area referred to as cislunar space, and on the lunar surface. The center will address Texas' growing demand for research and workforce development by civil, commercial and national security space agencies. It will also provide enhanced support to the more than 35 UTSA researchers and over 200 students working on space technology-related research and career development.
