The Margie and Bill Klesse College of Engineering and Integrated Design (Klesse College) at UTSA is leading the way in engineering and professional design research and education. All of our programs offer curricula that combine a strong theoretical background with hands-on experience in excellent labs, with a focus on teamwork and communication skills. Klesse College’s world-class faculty members hail from such prestigious institutions as Massachusetts Institute of Technology, John Hopkins University, Cornell University, The University of Texas-Austin, Texas A&M, Carnegie Mellon University, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Purdue University, University of Illinois, University of California at Berkeley, and Rice University. Our professors are citizens of the world, coming to Texas from countries including India, Turkey, China, Egypt, Mexico, Spain and Colombia, just to name a few. Students who choose UTSA have the opportunity to interact one-on-one with top-rate faculty members in both the classroom and in research laboratories, creating an atmosphere that is truly conducive to learning. Cutting-edge research in a wide range of areas such as energy, cloud computing, materials, and biomedicine, architecture, urban planning and historic preservation is federally and state funded at UTSA. To aid the economic development of the nation, the college also works closely with industry. It is our goal to have 100% of our students take part in experiential learning outside of the classroom before they graduate so that they can get a feel for what it is like to apply their curricular knowledge to a real-world, engineering experience. Klesse College prepares students for lifelong learning and careers in engineering professions and has been ranked for five years in a row as being among the top 10 best graduate schools for Hispanics.
