Provide outstanding, respectful, and culturally sensitive patient care. Improve the health of our patients by creating innovative technology and translating imaging research into clinical practice. Recruit, educate and develop imaging healthcare professionals. Share our clinical expertise through regional outreach to the people of Wisconsin and their healthcare providers. We improve human health by developing innovative imaging technology through basic and translational research in collaboration with colleagues at UW-Madison and beyond. We support the Wisconsin Idea to improve peoples' lives beyond our walls by collaborating with industry to translate new technology into daily clinical practice. We support the economic development of Wisconsin and the financial well being of UW Health. Thomas Grist, MD raised our department to national prominence and forged a strong partnership with GE HealthCare during his time as #radiology chair at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health. Celebrating the profound impact Dr. Grist has made in the field; he received two great honors this fall. The school named him a recipient of its highest honor, the Folkert O. Belzer Award. Additionally, the GE HealthCare foundation gave funds to establish a professorship in his name that will support the UW Department of Radiology’s research initiatives.
