At Uzman Engineering this week we are working on an interesting one. Pouring Slab infills in medical facility utializing fiberglass rebar. Some benefits of Fiberglass rebar are that it has high tensile strength, is non-conductive and non-corrosive as well as reducing overall weight.
Earlier this week, Lizanne Pepin from Hilti North America came out to teach our team all about decking connectors and anchor design. We had a great time learning the importance of proper installation and giving some of their products a try!

Duo-Gard loves a local project, these custom skylights are located on Novi High School in Novi Michigan. The aluminum frames were completely prefabricated in our facility then moved by crane to their permanent location. The skylights are glazed with our Series 3100 25mm triple wall polycarbonate, and printed to match the school’s color scheme. Duo-Gard worked very closely with TMP Architecture to create their desired look. The architect came to Duo-Gard with the vision of having the skylights match the Novi High School green. Using our Achieve 360° resource as a guide, our sales team worked to find an efficient and budget-friendly way to accomplish this, by digitally printing the panels. After the desired color was achieved, we worked with the architect to decide how to best design these skylights according to their specific project’s parameters. We used aluminum framing to reduce weight and increase ease of installation. This approach ensured that the architect’s project vision and goals were met, and Duo-Gard guided them to the most cost-effective solution. Thus, creating a partnership built on fulfillment and trust. “The skylights on these new canopies are really the icing on the cake. Organically woven into the triangular structural grid, they create a very unique and distinctive glow from underneath, which is indicative of the students and the Novi community.
