🌏China imported a total quantity of 3.70 million tonnes of natural rubber in the form of TSR (HS 400122) and mixtures of NR (HS 400280) during the 10 months from January to October 2024. Thailand enjoyed the biggest market share of 44% in the 3.70 million tonnes imported in China. Vietnam stood second with a market share of 24% followed by Malaysia (14%) and Cote d'Ivoire (8%). At the Ivory Coast Natural Rubber Days meeting, which hosted delegates from several #rubber-producing countries, APROMAC (Association of Natural Rubber Professionals of Côte d'Ivoire) unveiled key priorities to enhance the sector: ✅ Production Boom: From 164,000 tons in 2005 to 1.68 million tons in 2023, with 12% growth projected for the end of 2024. ✅ EUDR-Ready: Georeferencing plantations for traceability and easier credit access for farmers. ✅ Value Creation: Expanding local processing into high-value products like tires and technical parts. ✅ Sustainability Focus: Launching a certification to highlight quality and eco-friendly practices. 🤝 The collaboration with leading rubber-producing countries like Thailand focuses on stabilizing market prices, improving livelihoods, and advancing technology exchange, thereby strengthening the industry's resilience and competitiveness.
