Vartega is solving the world's toughest advanced materials recycling challenges.

About us

Vartega is solving the world's toughest advanced materials recycling challenges to create circular supply chains and enable a sustainable future. Our patented modular carbon fiber recycling process scales rapidly to address a gap in the composites supply chain. It's like a carbon fiber washing machine inside a shipping container. We deploy these units close to the source of composites scrap via our Hardware-as-a-Service subscription platform. Vartega’s carbon fiber and specialty thermoplastics are used in sporting goods, additive manufacturing, and vehicle lightweight.

Updates

  • We recently had VEREO Impact come out to our facility for an awesome team building experience. Team members had the opportunity to get hands on as pit crew members, and work to have a quick and efficient pit stop on a Nascar. We had a great time learning more about each other, and working together to find ways to be better problem solvers, and collaborate as a team. Thanks for the awesome experience to everyone involved! #vartegans #teambuilding

  • We’re overdue to announce that we’ve moved to 100% renewable electricity! As a company with a core focus on sustainability, we believe that our process is only as good as its dirtiest aspect, which means we’re always looking for ways to make our administrative and production processes more efficient without cutting corners or sacrificing the quality of work that we’re known for. It’s with that in mind that we decided to opt in to Excel Energy’s 100% renewable energy program to power our facility in Denver, Colorado. This facility encompasses practically all the work that Vartega does from paperwork to production of our final product. This means that our process is about as clean as we can possibly make it at the moment, with the only fossil fuel we burn being natural gas we use in a small part of our production process. Through this continuous improvement of even the small details of our processes, we’ve even further lowered the carbon footprint of our process vs that involved with the production of virgin carbon fiber, with virgin fiber emitting between 24 and 31 kg of Co2 per kg of carbon fiber, and our process only emitting between 0.6 - 1.0 kg of Co2 per kg of finished product. While there’s always more room for growth, we are excited to share this next step towards an even more sustainable alternative in composites. #renewableenergy #sustainabilityincomposites #sustainablesolutions

  • Vartega is excited to welcome Aaron Parker as our new Chief Operating Officer! Aaron brings valuable experience from automotive and consumer goods manufacturing leadership roles. His previous experience with building and managing high-performing teams and participating in the growth of other companies will be extremely valuable for us as we continue to expand our manufacturing capabilities and team. Aaron commented about the new role: “I'm extremely excited about joining the Vartega Team and bringing Operations Excellence and Lean Manufacturing to a company that has shown a commitment to re-shoring manufacturing in a low-cost, sustainable manner. My values align closely with those of Vartega, and I look forward to being able to help shape the future of ‘making carbon fiber more accessible.’" We can’t wait to see all the awesome things Aaron will help us accomplish as a Vartegan and are excited to welcome him onto the team.

  • It was an honor to be chosen to kick off American Composites Manufacturers Association’s inaugural Composites Sustainability Today conference at our Pecos HQ this week!  Thanks to the ACMA for bringing more thought and awareness to this critical topic for our industry, and for sponsoring the happy hour to cap off the day!

ACMA's first-ever Composites Sustainability Today conference, #CST24, has officially kicked off in Denver! Yesterday, we had the privilege of touring Vartega's composites recycling facility! Vartega is a leader in carbon fiber recycling, striving to provide sustainable solutions in an industry where only 2% of carbon fiber is currently recycled. During our visit, we explored various stations and gained insights into the innovative steps and processes Vartega employs to recycle carbon fiber. We were impressed by their commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability, which are the core principles guiding their operations. #ACMA #CST24 #Sustainability #Composites #Recycling #CarbonFiber
