Meet Dr. Ricardo Bello, a surgical oncologist who joins the award-winning medical team at VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center! Dr. Bello helps diagnose and treat patients with gastrointestinal cancers. He has a special focus on cancers of the liver, bile duct and pancreas. “VCU Health has the perfect combination of a well-established tradition in treating patients with cancer and a drive for innovation,” he says. “Treating and curing cancer requires a multidisciplinary effort from a team of highly specialized experts. As we embark on new journeys in 2025, our mission remains the same: keep cancer on the run. I recently had the honor of visiting the Virginia General Assembly to share the work we are doing at VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center, and greet the first Black governor in the history of the United States, Governor L. Douglas Wilder. I also met with leaders from other universities during the Cancer Caucus to discuss our efforts throughout Virginia to work toward eliminating the cancer burden and ensuring that the miracle medicine reaches every community. One team, one fight!
