Bank-grade AI Tools To Optimize Client Service and Manage Regulatory Risk

About us

The future of AI for financial services requires compliance at its core. At Vectari, our many years of experience in financial services, technology, and regulatory work help us understand the unique potential of modern AI to make financial services more inclusive, more responsive to customers’ needs and wants, and more compliant. However, based on our in-house expertise advising the CFPB, financial services, and AI companies on regulatory requirements, we also understand that financial institutions must use AI with caution, taking the necessary measures to protect sensitive data and to safeguard against detrimental over-reliance on the model, model bias, and other risks inherent in this emerging technology.

“The shrimp that falls asleep gets taken away by the current.” Ok, maybe the saying sounds better in the original Spanish, but it’s not too far from the English “pivot or perish”. I’ll be talking about what that means in the context of adapting to the AI renaissance tomorrow at the Latin American Chamber of Commerce of Charlotte Economic Outlook Panel. Join us!

“Data is the new oil”? That’s old news. At a time when data and knowledge are becoming comoditized, the irreplicable human spark is the true “new oil”. That’s what my wonderful panel partners and I concluded yesterday at the Fintech + Insurtech Generations conference. We had a great conversation on the importance of separating the tasks that AI is best at (text analysis, pattern finding, etc.) from the tasks that require the je ne sais quoi of being human. These include things like relating new facts to past -seemingly totally unrelated- experiences; showing empathy; and using our “spidey sense” to suss out subtle deception or discomfort. This is very much the approach we take at Vectari. We’re here to take care of the expert-trained text analysis and pattern detection that are the labor-heavy table stakes of compliance so that compliance teams can focus on higher order escalations, strategy, and other uniquely human value adds. I am grateful to Doug Wardley, Brian M Pasalich and Connor Joyce for a fantastic discussion and to Dan Roselli, Shannon Perry and the entire REVTech team for a very productive conference. Thank you for continuing to show off Charlotte to the world.

  • Vectari was in great company at the American Fintech Council’s CEO round table yesterday!

This is what progress in fintech looks like. Yesterday, at the American Fintech Council’s CEO round table it warmed my heart to see that, for the first time in a long time, I was not the only startup CEO/founder in the room from a diverse background. What’s more, Kareem Saleh at FairPlay AI and Kelly Ifill at Guava and I are all building companies that use technology to help banks and other FIs make their work even more fair, more inclusive, and more responsive to customer needs. I am incredibly grateful for the enthusiastic support and encouragement of the banking CEOs and other industry leaders we joined last night, who are all genuinely committed to moving the ball forward and willing to work shoulder to shoulder to get there. And I also thank my lucky star for Phil Goldfeder, Armen Meyer, and the AFC for bringing us together and for paving the way for great partnerships and great ideas. I can’t wait to see all the good we can do together!
