  • We are absolutely thrilled to announce the newest addition to our team and our very first hire at Velocity Bio! Matthew Keefe, originally from Pennsylvania, has also lived in Massachusetts, California, and Singapore. He earned his PhD from UCSF, where he developed synthetic DNA barcoding tools for lineage tracing of stem cells in the developing brain. When he’s not at work, he loves exploring the beautiful parks of California and honing his photography skills. Welcome to the team, Matt! We are so excited to have you on board and can't wait to see all the amazing things you'll accomplish!

Senior R&D Scientist at Velocity Bio | PhD from UCSF

I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Senior R&D Scientist at Velocity Bio! After spending years working with Biotech Connection - Bay Area, Inc. and seeing all of the work being done in the biotech startup space, I’m very excited to join it myself and help build the platforms that will enable the future of drug discovery. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of my career in the past 6 years, both at UCSF and BCBA, for your support, advice, and encouragement. I’ll still be in the Bay Area, so please don’t hesitate to reach out!
