Wow, this AI stuff doesn't get boring. Just as AI insiders were beginning to fret about a possible slowdown in progress toward even more intelligence, OpenAI released more fireworks as 2024 drew to a close, and reignites the conversation around what AI can achieve. Announced last week, o3 has already made waves by setting a new benchmark for reasoning and adaptability, scoring an impressive 87.5% on François Chollet’s ARC-AGI metric—a measure specifically designed to gauge AI’s ability to tackle novel, intelligent tasks.
