We are excited to share the results of the recent VET2Sustain online survey! The report, which involved 160 respondents from 18 countries, highlights the current challenges and opportunities in vocational education and training (VET). Key findings reveal obstacles such as rapid labour market changes, low levels of cooperation between schools and businesses, lack of resources and outdated teacher skills - all of which also appear to be critical areas for the quality of VET, according to our survey.   Find out about the current state of VET schools; how the schools have promoted their training and communicated their offering. At Centro Moda Canossa, where ENAC - Ente Nazionale Canossiano is dedicated to blending education with empathy, our third-year students have launched a compassionate initiative: crafting bed linens for the children at "Daniele Consolati e Anna Nascivera" orphanage in Burundi, supported by Il Melograno ODV. In a country where textiles are hard to come by, each linen not only offers practical support but symbolizes hope and community. This project enables students to develop hands-on skills while experiencing the profound impact of their work. Initiatives like these, aligned with VET2Sustain’s goals, reveal the power of education to nurture global citizens — students who are equipped with both technical abilities and a commitment to social responsibility. Through collaboration, creativity, and compassion, Centro Moda Canossa fosters an inspiring learning environment where students learn to shape not only their futures but also that of their global community. #VET2Sustain #Sustainability #VocationalEducation #GenZ #Innovation #EfVET #Collaboration #EUProjects #VocationalEducation #EuropeanEducation #InclusiveAndDigitalVET

Kitchen Team Project Expert Meeting in Puglia: Linking Hands-on Experience to VET2Sustain Goals! The recent Expert Meeting in Puglia of Kitchen Team project brought together a dedicated team to delve into ENAC Puglia’s vocational education model and exchange ideas on innovative training approaches. This gathering offered a rich blend of strategic discussions, hands-on workshops, and direct interaction with ENAC Puglia students, giving our participants unique perspectives on practical, learner-centered education. Exploring Italian educational practices proved invaluable for the goals of the VET2Sustain project, which focuses on fostering sustainable, skills-based vocational training in alignment with EU priorities. Through these sessions, we gained insights that will shape our approach to responsive training solutions, adaptable to today’s evolving industry needs. Cultural immersion also played a vital role in team bonding and creative inspiration, with participants enjoying local pastries and a tour of Foggia’s historic center. These experiences recharged our team and reinforced our commitment to developing sustainable, future-focused educational methods. Looking forward to translating this inspiration into actionable strategies for VET2Sustain! #VET2Sustain #VocationalTraining #KitchenTeamProject #ENACPuglia #SustainableEducation #SkillsDevelopment #EuropeanProjects #CulinaryEducation

🌍 VET Schools Doing Green: Equipping Educators with Soft Skills for Sustainable Education From October 8-10, Kuressaare Ametikool hosted the Erasmus+ VET Schools Doing Green Staff Week, bringing educators and staff together to delve into sustainability through a hands-on, skills-focused approach. Alongside deepening their understanding of sustainable development, educators practiced soft skills like adaptability, teamwork, and critical thinking — essential tools to engage the next generation in sustainability education. A highlight of the week was Kuressaare Ametikool students' Insectcalyptic fashion show, featuring designs made from recycled materials. This creative showcase illustrated how VET can be a powerful platform for environmental impact, aligning with VET2Sustain's goals to make VET relevant and appealing to Generation Z. Through empathy, collaboration, and creative problem-solving, educators are now equipped to make sustainability relatable and actionable in their classrooms. The next Staff Week will continue this journey in Trento at Centromoda Canossa in late November. As these projects evolve, the collaboration between VET Schools Doing Green and VET2Sustain is building a foundation for sustainable, student-centered vocational education that resonates with today’s young people.  #VET2Sustain #Sustainability #VocationalEducation #GenZ #Innovation #EfVET #EUProjects #VET2Sustain #VocationalEducation #EuropeanEducation #InclusiveAndDigitalVET

🌍 EUClass Alliance Network: Bridging Vocational Training and University Across Europe The EUClass Alliance Network launches on November 4, 2024, creating an innovative bridge between vocational training and academia to address Europe’s changing economic and social landscape. This project, led by ENAC Ente Nazionale Canossiano ETS and including the University of Trento (UNITN), unites VET institutions from Italy, Spain, Estonia, Finland, Greece, and the Netherlands. This unique collaboration reflects a vision of combining practical VET training with academic research to meet the needs of Generation Z and beyond. Starting with an online meeting, followed by an in-person gathering in december inn Verona, Italy, the project’s early stages will focus on aligning goals and strategies across borders. UNITN brings critical research insights on employment trends and pedagogy to the project, while VET partners offer on-the-ground expertise, creating a shared framework to shape the future of vocational education. With a mission to strengthen VET’s role across Europe, this partnership fosters international collaboration, enabling skill-sharing and mobility for students and educators alike. As part of the VET for Sustainable Development Goals in Action project, the recent EfVET (European Forum for Vocational Education and Training) conference featured a dynamic workshop focused on attracting Generation Z to vocational education and training (VET). Titled "How to Attract Generation Z to VET," this session, facilitated by Mari Kontturi of Luovi Vocational College and Anne-Mari Behm of Samiedu Vocational College, gathered educators and training experts to explore effective methods for engaging the next generation through sustainability and innovation. The workshop provided an active learning space, utilizing VET to Sustain’s project-based findings to inform discussions. Attendees learned that Generation Z values career paths with a tangible societal impact and explored how aligning VET content with the SDGs can attract this demographic. Facilitators shared marketing strategies derived from the project, focusing on engaging platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, alongside compelling storytelling methods to reach young audiences effectively. Through workshops like this, the VET to Sustain project is reshaping vocational education across Europe, tapping into a wealth of motivated, purpose-driven students eager to contribute to sustainable development. Together, we can create a blueprint for VET institutions to inspire the next generation of learners. #VET2Sustain #Sustainability #VocationalEducation #GenZ #Innovation #EfVET #Collaboration #EUProjects #VocationalEducation #EuropeanEducation #InclusiveAndDigitalVET

The MBO Raad signed the Dutch VET Internship Pact 2023–2027 on behalf of all Dutch VET schools (with member schools Alfa-college and Aventus). This VET internship pact centers on four key themes: improving internship supervision, eliminating internship discrimination, providing sufficient internship opportunities, and ensuring fair remuneration. Stakeholders from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment (SZW), the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW), and the Association of VET Colleges, including Mirjam van den Broek and Charlotte Stopel from the MBO Raad, visited Aeres in Barneveld (a VET school for animal care) to review the progress of these initiatives. #VocationalEducation #EuropeanEducation #DutchVET #SchoolForAnimalCare ##SkillsForTheFuture #Aeres #Barneveld
