This year, Vid Monster was given free rein by the team at GoBG Transit to get a little creative with their social content. And so, Gary Transit was born. As the brainchild of VMP's Director of Art & Design, Chris Butler (@isoban), and played by VMP's Lead Social Content Creator, Jared Kunish (@jaredkunish), Gary Transit was created to provide a juxtaposition between the erraticism of an up-start transportation service and the dependability of BG's city transit. What resulted was a hybrid between a hidden-camera series with mostly organic interactions and a pseudo character study of a young, misunderstood, awkward—but ultimately well-intentioned—goofball, Gary Transit, which is all expressed through a series of light-hearted misadventures. Earlier this year, Vid Monster collaborated with our local United Way to tackle a unique short film project spotlighting the importance of Kindergarten Readiness. Quentin's Story, written by Chris Butler and co-directed by Sam Kirby and Nick Williams tells the story of a child's coming of age. Jared Kunish, Derick Johnson, and Kiki Jasper were additionally crucial in bringing this vision to life. Quentin's challenges with social interaction, educational growth, and finally career orientation illustrate the ripple effect that early childhood education can have on the whole life of an individual. The Warren County Public Library asked Vid Monster for help in developing a website that would serve as a local resource hub for those in need. The Start Here Warren County website (startherewarrencounty.org) is an online resource that allows people to search for specific assistance when they’re in need, from food and shelter aid to special educational tools.
