We love World Sight Day! In the lead up to this year's World Sight Day, we screened the vision of more than 600,000 people and and helped more than 100,000 children and working adults to see clearly through eyeglasses. Whether it's boosting productivity and safety at the workplace or helping kids thrive at school, eyeglasses can radically transform people's lives. As we close out yet another successful year of clear vision, impact, and advocacy, we're already getting excited for next year's World Sight Day on October 9, 2025. But in the meantime, we have a question for you. When was the last time you checked your eyes? #WSD2024 #LoveYourEyes #Eye #Health #SocialEntrepreneurship

Meet Rukayat Abdullahi, a 43-year-old teacher from Nigeria. Her deteriorating near vision made it harder to teach and grade her students' work. The school director would regularly complain about her vision-related difficulties and she was scared of losing her job. And Rukayat's worries extended beyond the workplace — she was also fearful of losing her sight completely. She felt great relief after we screened her vision and discovered that she only needed reading glasses and did not have any serious eye #health conditions. It's a privilege to help put someone like Rukayat at ease. With a simple pair of readers, both her vision and job are secured, allowing her to continue teaching with confidence. #SocialEntrepreneurship #SocialImpact #Health #Nigeria

We're honoured to be featured in Funding What Works, a publication by Panorama Global, and included on a list of trusted, highly vetted organisations! We know firsthand that large, unrestricted gifts can address critical organisational needs and serve as a springboard to achieve outsized impact. In 2022, a gift from MacKenzie Scott enabled us to launch our Livelihoods in Focus initiative – a project that will correct the vision of 8.2 million farmers and artisans in the coming years, unlocking more than $1.5 billion in income-earning potential. VisionSpring's experience is consistent with that of the other organisations featured in Panorama's publication. Such gifts represent an important down payment on our bold impact goals and open low-risk, high-return opportunities for philanthropists to fill the funding gap. Follow-on funding ensures organisations with proven success can deliver transformative change. "After being given glasses, my productivity has gradually increased." Before receiving her eyeglasses, Trang Nguyen – a Vietnamese garment worker – struggled to get her work done on time. Her blurry vision made ordinary tasks like threading a needle a struggle. With her new VisionSpring glasses, she not only works more efficiently, she is also able to read to her children again. For those with blurry vision, eyeglasses are more than a tool to improve productivity and earning potential – they're essential for improving people's quality of life as well. Yet, more than a billion people lack access to eyeglasses. We work with mission-aligned partners to bridge this gap, providing affordable eyeglasses for those living on less than $4 a day. Our low-cost, high-quality options help millions of people – just like Trang – improve their livelihoods for less than one or two days' wages. #DignityOfChoice #SocialEntrepreneurship

"Without proper vision, we can't read anything written on the road signs." Surendar is a truck driver based in Noida, India. With more than 35 years of professional driving under his belt, he knows how critical clear vision is for road safety. Research shows that 60% of road traffic accidents can be attributed to poor vision, and many drivers simply don't have the time to have their eyes checked on a regular basis. That's why our See to be Safe program sets up vision screenings in transport hubs and service stations, bringing eye care services straight to where drivers and transportation workers are. As of last year, we screened the vision of more than 715,000 drivers and transportation workers, providing 76% of them with their first-ever pair of eyeglasses. If you work in the transportation and logistics sector, please consider partnering with us to bring clear vision to drivers in your supply chains, fleets, and stakeholder communities. Remember, clear vision saves lives. #Eye #Health #Safety #SDGs #SocialEntrepreneurship

We had a productive time at the 11th India CSR & ESG Summit last week! It was an honour to meet with sector allies and receive government leaders at our stall, including Dr. Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister of Goa, and Anurag Singh Thakur, Former Union Minister for Information, Broadcasting and Sports. Their support inspires us to continue providing high-quality eyeglasses to those who need them the most. And kudos to Sanjay D. (Deputy Director, Resource Mobilisation), for showcasing our impactful work in an insightful talk, "Doing Good For Bharat." Thank you, CSRBOX, for hosting such a valuable event and bringing together the country's impact-driven changemakers. Together, we're creating a future where clear vision is accessible to all! #India #CSR #ESG #SocialImpact
