🔬 𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. As a mother, co-founder and leader at vitalera in the health and technology sector, I am still surprised by the significant gender disparities in science and healthcare. Although statistically, women achieve higher grades in school and university, we still face more barriers to accessing STEM careers and advancing professionally. 📊 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: ✅ Only 10% of research funding goes to women-led projects. ✅ Only 30% of researchers worldwide are women. ✅ Less than 35% of STEM students are women, with even lower representation in Engineering and Technology. ✅ So far, fewer than 4% of Nobel Prizes in Physics have been awarded to women. 🎯 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗜 𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝗺𝘆𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳, 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗲 𝗱𝗼? Many girls receive less encouragement to pursue science. The good news? We can change this by supporting them, inspiring them, improving STEM education in schools, and creating equal opportunities. 💜 That’s why today, I want to send a clear message to all women and girls who dream of science, technology, and innovation; science advances only when there is diverse ideas and perspectives. We all belong. P.S. My son’s shirt is from Female Startup Leaders which is breaking barriers. Thanks to all the women I admire and inspire me Marie-Eve Beaulieu, Susana Ochoa, Mariona Serra-Pagès, Vanesa Rodríguez-Salés, Eva García Ramos Isabel Lopez Guerrero, MBA - Medical Devices Consultant, and many more...! Let’s continue breaking barriers 💪
