  • Today's #HydroPictureOfTheWeek shows the stunning bird's view of the Cana Brava #hydropower station, which is located in Cavalcante (GO) on the Tocantins River. It was the first power station of ENGIE Brasil in Brazil to generate #power. The Cana Brava plant was built in a record time of 37,5 months and went into commercial operations in 2002. Cana Brava has #generator units with vertical #Francis turbines, each producing 150 MW, totaling 450 MW of installed capacity, This is enough to supply 1.5 million households in the central-west and north-east of Brazil

✅ Successful Factory Acceptance Test for AGUS-7 U2 Excitation System Upgrade We have successfully completed the Factory Acceptance Test for the AGUS-7 U2 excitation system upgrade - our first project of this kind in Southeast Asia. The Factory Acceptance Test covered hardware and software inspections, performance testing, system optimization, integration trials, and user training. With structured project management and technical expertise, we ensured a smooth and efficient process, earning positive feedback from all stakeholders. A key factor in this success was the close collaboration with our Philippine client team, whose evaluation and optimization insights contributed significantly to the project's outcome. Our local team also played a crucial role in ensuring seamless coordination and process efficiency. With a clear focus on quality and customer needs, we continue to drive innovative solutions for sustainable energy generation.

  • Every hydropower masterpiece begins with individual components – like the ones seen here in our workshop. These impressive parts have now come together to form a turbine for the Rogun hydropower station in Tajikistan. 💡With an outer diameter of approximately 6.2 meters and a total weight of around 103 tons, the runner is one of the most striking elements of a power station. After production, the next critical steps included balancing and meticulous testing to ensure optimal performance before delivery to the site. This behind-the-scenes insight is our latest #HydroPictureOfTheWeek – showcasing the craftsmanship and precision that go into every hydropower project. 💬 Which part of hydropower manufacturing fascinates you the most? #ThrowbackThursday – A look back at hydropower engineering! This striking double-runner, with an impressive 3,600 mm diameter, was part of one of the two single-stage storage pumps at the Bleiloch hydropower plant in Germany. As the largest reservoir in the country, Bleiloch has played a crucial role in balancing energy supply and demand for decades. 📍 Owned and operated by Vattenfall, the plant utilizes pumped storage technology to balance electricity supply and demand – storing surplus energy and releasing it when needed. Even today, this principle remains crucial for integrating renewable energy sources into modern power systems. A powerful reminder of how hydropower innovation continues to shape sustainable energy solutions!

  • 🔹 A strong signal for the global energy transition! The UK’s updated national climate plan demonstrates what ambitious renewable energy targets should look like, backed by concrete measures to scale up wind, solar, and hydropower. This approach provides investment certainty and sets a crucial example for other nations. 🌍 Now it’s time for more governments to follow suit and strengthen their NDCs with bold, actionable renewable energy commitments. #NowDeliverChange #Mission2025 #EnergyTransition #Renewables

#NDC: UK update to national climate plan reinforces its leadership in the global energy transition Today, the UK government has submitted an update to its national climate plan - NDC - outlining what actions the UK is taking to meet its #ParisAgreement commitments. Crucially, the update highlights UK’s policies and initiatives to scale up renewables nationally, including lifting the onshore wind ban, expanding solar, and delivering a record-breaking renewables auction. Importantly, it also acknowledges consultation with non-state actors - including input from the Global Renewables Alliance (GRA). This recognition underscores the impact of our #NowDeliverChange campaign and the #Mission2025 initiative, which call for ambitious, specific, and actionable renewable energy targets in NDCs. 🗣️ "The UK has reaffirmed its leadership in the global energy transition, demonstrating a clear commitment to meeting international climate goals. With this ambitious climate plan, the UK is setting an example, providing the certainty needed to unlock private investment in renewables. By harnessing the energy security, cost competitiveness, and rapid deployment benefits of renewables, the UK is not only advancing its own clean energy future but also encouraging other governments to make similarly bold commitments to accelerate the global renewables revolution," said Louise Burrows, Head of Government Affairs, GRA. The UK also announced an upcoming cross-economy plan to meet the climate targets, which will contain policy packages for all sectors on the pathway to net zero by 2050. ⭕ As we move towards tripling renewable energy capacity by 2030, the 191 governments yet to submit their NDCs must follow suit. We urge more companies and organisations to join our call on governments to seize the opportunity to set ambitious, specific, and actionable renewable energy targets in their NDCs. 💡 Learn more and get involved: https://lnkd.in/eS9pgzpj #NowDeliverChange #Mission2025 #Renewables #EnergyTransition #NDCs #UK #ClimateAction GRA Members Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) Ben Backwell | Global Solar Council (GSC) Sonia Dunlop | Green Hydrogen Organisation - GH2 Jonas Moberg | Long Duration Energy Storage Council (LDES Council) Julia Souder | International Hydropower Association (IHA) Eddie Rich | International Geothermal Association Marit Brommer | Bruce Douglas

  • The final unit at the Liaoning Qingyuan #PumpedStorage plant, unit 6, has successfully passed its 15-day performance test and is now fully operational. With stable performance in vibration, sway, and temperature standards, it sets a new benchmark for pumped storage units. Located in Fushun City, the power plant is now the largest pumped storage facility in Northeast China, featuring six units with a total capacity of 1.8 gigawatts. We proudly supplied six 300 megawatt units along with auxiliary equipment, ensuring reliable and efficient operations. This achievement marks yet another milestone in our nearly 30-year partnership with the State Grid Corporation of China. Together, we continue driving progress toward China’s ambitious carbon neutrality goals by delivering innovative hydropower solutions. 💡 Let us keep shaping the future of sustainable energy, one project at a time.
