I want to congratulate the entire EDP Renewables North America team for bringing three new solar parks into operation in Illinois and Texas, with the support and collaboration of Microsoft, who joined us in our commitment to deploying affordable, reliable renewable energy solutions for all Americans. These three solar parks — Wolf Run, Hickory, and Cattlemen II — will provide a total of 400 MW of utility-scale solar energy, with Microsoft purchasing 389 MW through long-term virtual PPAs. In addition to strengthening the power grid and meeting America’s growing energy demand, these projects have contributed millions of dollars to the local communities where they operate. And, through the environmental justice PPA developed by Microsoft and Volt Energy Utility, Hickory will contribute funding to enable Sharing the Power Foundation to offer financial assistance to organizations and causes that ensure equal access to water, renewable energy, and opportunities to pursue workforce training in clean energy careers.  We look forward to continuing to build an energy future that empowers and strengthens all American communities.
