  • ✨ EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT ✨ This month, our Employee Spotlight shines on Tina Lester! Tina was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and made the move to downtown Huntsville when she was just 3 years old. Living so close to the VBC as a child was something she remembers fondly, and recalls the VBC as being part of her playground while she was growing up! She attended Huntsville High School but graduated from Grissom High School, before furthering her education at Calhoun Community College and the University of South Alabama. At just 15 years old, Tina began working her first job at Wendy's located on South Memorial Parkway, and stated that even from a young age, she knew she wanted to spend her life working in the hospitality industry. In May of 2022, she joined the #VBChsv team as a Food & Beverage Manager and can often be found in our onsite restaurant, Rhythm On Monroe! "I always think of the magic of working here, and contributing to the great experiences everyone is going to have. It is so much fun to be behind-the-scenes with such a great team," Tina commented. "Working at a restaurant inside of a venue is like nothing I've ever done before. A lot of the events all begin around the same time and it's always interesting to have the restaurant really busy with all of the different types of people mingling together – people getting ready to see a rock show in Mars, beside Broadway Theatre League season tickets holders, and families eating dinner before heading to watch a Havoc hockey game – the people watching is great here!” "It's so hard to choose a specific favorite memory of working here. I grew up performing here with Community Ballet and Fantasy Playhouse, and now I make great memories here in a different stage of my life. It really feels like I've come full circle," she continued. In addition to the extraordinary hospitality she serves our guests, Tina is also a foodie outside of work! She dabbles in creating a little bit of everything, but nothing beats her Coconut Chicken Curry. 😍 The VBC and Rhythm On Monroe could not be a better fit for Tina because she is also an avid supporter of live music! She loves listening to live music anywhere from local restaurants to large festivals. 🎶 While Tina appreciates music in all settings, nothing compares to her love of spending time with her son, Jordan, her 13 year old dog, Paco, and her cat, Ashley! _________________________ Thank you for all that you do, Tina! We're glad to have you on the #VBChsv team!

  • ✨ EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT ✨ This month, our Employee Spotlight shines on Brittany Ferguson! Brittany is from Ardmore, Alabama, and a 2003 graduate of Sparkman High School. After graduating high school, she attended Motlow State Community College where she earned her degree in Business Management! Brittany came across an advertisement in the Huntsville Times Newspaper for an opening for a Box Officer Supervisor at the VBC, and after mailing in her resume, she joined the #VBChsv team in August of 2008! When asked her favorite thing about the VBC, Brittany said, "It is easily the people. There's lots of kindness that goes around!" She continued, "Working Big Spring Jam has to be one of my favorite memories of working here. It was so much fun to experience all of the different genres and all of the different crowds it brought." Outside of being a rockstar at the VBC, Brittany loves to travel! Whether she's at the beach or on a cruise, you know you will find her somewhere tropical. 🌴 When Brittany is home, she is often cuddled up with her French Bulldog, Bocephus, named after Hank Williams Jr.! While she loves the Alabama Crimson Tide, she still roots for the Tennessee Volunteers for her two children, Lucas and Madison, who have both attended the University of Tennessee. 🏈 _______________________ Thank you for all that you do, Brittany!
