Joey Henderson led our recent refrigerant flow class covering all the different components in a system and how the refrigerant changes states as it cycles. Joey provides practical advice for Blackstone field technicians who are responsible for servicing and maintaining our customer’s HVAC systems.

Blackstone technicians during a recent chiller training class. Our Chiller Training Program is designed for our technicians responsible for operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of chiller systems in commercial buildings. Because chilled water systems are ever-changing in their configurations, Blackstone technicians stay up-to-date on diagnostic tools, troubleshooting methods, operation and maintenance of these systems.

We are excited for Central Carolina Technical College to take occupancy of their new Academic & Student Services building this spring! Blackstone installed the building's sophisticated zone-controlled HVAC system featuring 105 variable air volume (VAV) boxes that adjust the air volume based on the needs of specific areas. The Golden Spur in Campus Village at the University of South Carolina is a Gamecock-themed restaurant and bar that pays homage to a 1980s-era USC restaurant and bar of the same name – pairing a new experience with a sense of nostalgia for the Russell House venue. Check out the exposed spiral ductwork, which adds to the unique casual look while keeping the space conditioned and comfortable. Blackstone enjoyed being part of the construction team that brought this new dining concept to on-campus life in time for the 2024-2025 academic year. Hood Construction Company, Inc.
