Summer is upon us and we are returning to seasonal activities including hiking, camping and bike riding. Sometimes, the unexpected may happen, resulting in people becoming lost and lives being put at risk. Before you head out on your next adventure... Have you told someone where you are going and what you are doing? What resources do you have with you? Is your vehicle and equipment well-maintained? Do you have enough fuel, food and water? Have you let someone know when are you likely to return? If you are overdue will there be a friend or family member who can contact Police on your behalf? Stay safe and have fun exploring Western Australia! 🏕️ ☀️

A group of friends who were enjoying a night out in Mandurah with 19-year-old Annette Deverell may hold the key to solving her murder from more than four decades ago. Annette’s death is examined in this week’s Cold Case Western Australia podcast, which is hosted by veteran crime reporter and former WA Police Force media advisor Neil Poh. Annette met friends in Mandurah on Saturday 13 September 1980, and she was last seen talking to an unidentified man after 11pm that night near the Mandurah Post Office. Her remains were found by trail bike riders near Pinjarra on Sunday 4 June, 1982. There’s a $1 million reward for information that leads to the conviction of the person or persons who were responsible for Annette's death. We are asking for your help.
