About us

Transforming lives and sharing God's love through sustainable access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene in the places that need it most. Water for Good is a faith-based, non-profit organization committed to creating a future where no one dies from a preventable waterborne disease. In partnership with local churches and leaders, we help communities establish access to reliable water and critical sanitation and hygiene practices—ensuring sustainable change, empowered citizens, and healthy futures. Our work is crucial because the water crisis is unsustainable, impacting 703 million people who lack access to basic water services. Every two minutes, a child under the age of five dies from a preventable waterborne disease. When 1-in-12 people around the world lack reliable access to safe water and 1-in-5 lack access to a toilet, they also lack the opportunity to truly thrive. Women and children are particularly disadvantaged, often spending hours collecting water that may not even be safe to drink. It affects health, hinders education, perpetuates poverty, and deepens inequality. But together, we can be a source for change that ends the crisis so every child experiences safe water, a healthy community, and God's love.

  • Today, with billions of others around the world, we celebrate with joy the birth of Jesus, the source of living water. May this day, and all days, be full of the remembrance of the love of Christ and the new life he has given us. "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given... and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6 Merry Christmas from the Water for Good team!

Great to see that the publication on trends in rural water supply written by my wonderful colleague Julia Boulenouar as part of #RealWater with Aquaya is one of the three most downloaded resources on the entire USAID Global Waters website - quite an achievement and if you missed it first time around here it is again: https://lnkd.in/ey-gYBXq

Last quarter, Water for Good completed 16 new waterpoints and began drilling on 10 more, expanding the reach of their nationwide water utility system. Additionally, their teams conducted 1,272 maintenance visits, ensuring safe and reliable water for thousands of people. This progress is encouraging, but they remain focused on their goal to provide 75% of Region 2’s population—that’s 670,000 people—with safe water by 2027. So far, they have increased access to safe water from 10% to 38.1% in four years. Learn more and join us today: https://lnkd.in/gDQG6Xh9

  • Jesus cared for the needs of women and children. This truth drives us in the communities we serve. Statistics say the water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) crisis disproportionately affects women and children. They are the most likely in their homes to be tasked with finding water—which is often unsafe to drink. Children exposed to poor WASH practices experience malnutrition, health issues, and too often, premature death. But it doesn't have to be this way. Access to safe, reliable water transforms the lives of women and children. Our Let Hope Flow campaign will support better lives for women and children across the five countries we serve, and your gift of $60 will provide safe water for one woman for a year. Please join us in transforming the lives of women and children today. Want more? • Imagine life without safe water. It's not just an inconvenience—it's a daily battle for survival. Right now, 702 million people are living without access to reliable water. One in four lack basic sanitation—something we often take for granted. And every two minutes, a child dies from a preventable water-related illness. These aren't just statistics. These are real families, real children, real lives. That's why we've launched the Let Hope Flow campaign: to reach over 150,000 people who urgently need help. Together, we can bring life-changing hope where it's needed most. Will you join us? Every dollar you give today creates ripples of change that will last for years to come. Let's make clean water a reality for everyone. Check out this video to see how we work. #WASH #Hygiene #Sanitation #WaterCrisis

  • Mandazou is a young, single mother of two young girls in the Central African Republic. To care for her small family, she became an entrepreneur. But, her family could never get ahead financially because her meager earnings often vanished due to her children's medical bills. They often fell sick from illnesses associated with drinking the only water she could find—dirty water from a nearby swamp. Thankfully, Water for Good established a solar-powered water access point in front of Mandazou's house, transforming her children's health. She now sees the hope of a better future, knowing the water will be there day after day, year after year. Her family lives differently now. Help transform the lives of families like Mandazou's by donating to our Let Hope Flow campaign today! Want to see more?
