No community is too small for WFX. We had the opportunity to visit the Lago Vista neighborhood this week, located right outside of Luling, TX, whose small but mighty water system is serving 18 families. WFX is exploring solutions to provide Lago Vista with the necessary support to address the needs of their community and help ensure clean and reliable water for every resident.

About us
The Water Finance Exchange (WFX) strives to increase funding partnerships in the U.S. water, wastewater and stormwater sector. Initially, we will focus on small and rural communities to close the funding gaps and create innovative regional solutions to enhance a community’s relationship to their watershed. WFX mobilizes its diverse network to source and evaluate deals in target regions, select communities for project development, and close, execute and fund water deals.

We're looking forward to collaborating with Veolia North America to provide additional options and expertise to the communities we work with. They joined us at our recent workshops in Tennessee and Oklahoma, offering insights into water and wastewater system management that small systems otherwise would not have access to.
America’s water and wastewater systems need an estimated $1 trillion in investment to make up for decades of deferred maintenance and upgrades, but many communities lack the funding, organization or technical ability to begin tackling their challenges. That’s why we’re joining with Water Finance Exchange (WFX) to help small and disadvantaged communities improve their water and wastewater systems. As a founding member of the WFX Water Roundtable, we will use our experience, knowledge and energy to help communities find solutions to complex water problems, especially in rural, disadvantaged areas that often have the fewest tools but most need. With our support, the WFX Water Roundtable will help communities identify and prioritize water projects, evaluate their technical and financial resources, explore creative funding strategies and then get to work building the physical infrastructure their residents deserve. We're helping stand up an ownership entity for a funded decentralized wastewater system (DEWATS) in Newbern, AL. On Tuesday, December 3, the town hosted a community meeting at the local library, attended by over 50 residents. At least 30 residents signed up for connections to the DEWATS system, which will enter the construction phase in the next few months if all conditions set by the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) can be met. This project is spearheaded by leadership from the Consortium for Alabama Rural Water and Wastewater Management. We look forward to seeing positive, sustainable changes in Newbern.
