News coming from InnerPlant: The company has partnered with Cooperative Producers, Inc. (CPI) to showcase its CropVoice™ disease alert network in a demonstration field at Hunnicutt Farms. This collaboration aims to provide CPI’s farmers with early, data-driven insights into crop health using InnerPlant’s technology, which detects plant stress signals before visible symptoms appear. InnerPlant’s innovation involves inserting a trait into soybean plants that emits optical signals when under stress, such as fungal infections or insect attacks. These signals, detectable by satellites or vehicle-mounted sensors, allow farmers to take proactive measures to protect their crops. Beyond CPI, other agricultural retailers like SunAg in Illinois and CHS in Nebraska have begun offering CropVoice to farmers for the 2025 season. BETA TECHNOLOGIES has partnered with Florence Regional Airport (FLO) to bring South Carolina’s first airport-based electric charging infrastructure to the airport. The charger, installed on the airside of the airport, will power BETA’s aircraft as well as a range of other EVs, including cars, vans, and trucks. This collaboration aligns with BETA’s mission to advance electric aviation by expanding charging networks. Airport Director Brad Beadles welcomed BETA’s customers and business partners, emphasizing the airport’s goal of becoming a regional transit hub for electric aircraft. Announcing our follow-on investment in Nanochon: Nanochon is a HealthTech company that provides accelerated cartilage regeneration by inserting a 3-D printed implant made with proprietary nano-material that allows for a near instant post-operation recovery. Nanochon’s primary market is knee replacement for people 18-65 years old and for horses. While human use was the original market, the equestrian industry has proven itself to be very lucrative for Nanochon, as horses with knee issues currently have few options for treatment and are frequently put down as a result. This marks our 4th investment in Nanochon, and we are excited to continue our work with them as they revolutionize the knee replacement market.
