Bad weather may disrupt schools, but it doesn’t have to interrupt education. A home computer ensures students stay connected to their lessons, classmates, and teachers—no matter the challenges outside. Every computer in a home is an investment in uninterrupted learning. Help us bring this opportunity to more families in need. 👉 Partner with us at wearetechfin.org to make a difference today! #techfin #donation #donatetoday #donate #donating #pc #computer #laptop #familiesinneed #NewYork #badweather #digitaldivide

Narrowing the digital divide, one recycled computer at a time
About us
TechFIN helps narrow the digital divide by addressing a major hurdle to computer hardware ownership: its cost. TechFIN sources its computers from corporate donors. The working machines are picked up in bulk and delivered to our storage facility. There the machines are cleaned, tested, and loaded with the appropriate software by our IT staff, then set aside for distribution. TechFIN partners with a select few non-profit organizations that already work closely with low-income families. We rely on our partners to nominate appropriate recipients.

Globally, e-waste is the fastest-growing waste stream, with nearly 50 million tons generated annually. Only 15-20% is recycled properly, with the rest polluting our environment. At TechFIN, we turn e-waste into opportunities by refurbishing old computers and providing them to families in need. Help us tackle both e-waste and digital inequality by donating your unwanted tech. According to recent data, 43% of households with incomes under $30,000 lack access to a home computer. This digital gap affects children’s education, parents' job searches, and access to critical services. At TechFIN, we’re closing that gap by providing refurbished computers to families in need. You can be a part of this change by donating your old devices today! “We are thrilled that Brooklyn Org has recognized the value of our work using donated corporate computers to create digital equity for low-income families across New York City. The Brooklyn Org Spark Prize will allow us to help transform the lives of moms who cannot fully access job opportunities or health care services and their kids who are forced to complete homework assignments on their phone all because they don’t have a computer in the home,” - Nigel Frankson, co-founder and Chairman of Technology for Families In Need. 🎟️ We can't wait to celebrate TechFIN and their fellow prize winners at the 2025 Brooklyn Org Spark Breakfast on February 25th at the Barclays Center!
