Bri’s Journey: A Year of Strength In November 2022, Bri underwent open-heart surgery for a congenital heart defect we only discovered at 21. Nine months later, complications from pneumonia led to pericarditis, lung collapse, and a long battle with her health. Over the past year, she has faced multiple hospital visits, surgeries, medications, and heart failure. On September 18, 2024, Bri had another open-heart surgery to remove her pericardium at Mayo Clinic. Recovery has been incredibly challenging, with setbacks like hemorrhaging, collapsed lungs, allergic reactions, and a ruptured incision. Despite everything, Bri continues to fight with incredible strength. She’s now undergoing infusions, weekly wound care, and ongoing treatments. Recovery isn’t easy, but she’s staying optimistic! #BriStrong ♥️ Thank you, Bri, for bravely sharing your journey with us and inspiring so many with your strength and resilience.
