WellSpan Hospital at Home helps to make the holidays at home a possibility 💙 For Steven Bortner, a 10-day hospitalization for an infection made him and his wife, Kathy, weary to head home once he was ready for discharge. That’s where a WellSpan social worker stepped in and introduced the Bortners to new possibilities, made possible by WellSpan’s Hospital at Home program. “The WellSpan Hospital at Home program is for low-acuity patients who can safely receive hospital-level medical treatment in the comfort of their own home,” says Aubree Dilley, a registered nurse and advanced practice provider with WellSpan’s Hospital at Home Program. “The program is comprised of a multi-disciplinary team including nurses, nurse practitioners and doctors. The Hospital at Home team works both in-person and virtually to ensure the best patient outcomes.” Once Steven and Kathy discussed their questions with the team, they decided the program was the right fit for their family. “Having nurses and doctors just a phone call away if anything came up, any time, day or night, really gave us peace of mind,” shared Steven. Congratulations to the 2024 Power of Diversity: Women 100, including our senior vice president of Wellspan’s West Region, Niki Hinckle! In addition to her leadership of strategic and operational initiatives for all services within Adams, Cumberland and Franklin County, Niki is the executive sponsor of WellSpan's new Veteran Team Member Resource Group, which will foster a supportive community and provide networking opportunities through activities such as professional development mentoring, community outreach and advocacy for diversity and inclusion. We’re proud to work as one to improve health and wellness in a culture that promotes respect and belonging. Way to go, Niki! 👏
