Today is Boy Scouts of America Day, and we want to take a moment to express our gratitude for the incredible work we’ve been fortunate to do with such a meaningful organization over the years. Since 2009, we’ve had the privilege of contributing to several of their impactful projects, including the expansion of Camp Manatoc in 2009, the Camp Manatoc Aquatic Center in 2013, and the construction of Camp Butler in 2019. Now, we’re excited to be working on the Trades Building at Camp Manatoc! It’s been an honor to help create spaces where future leaders grow, learn, and explore. Welty has come along way over the past 80 years, and we can't wait for another!
History of Welty Building Company - 1945: Henry D. Welty Designer Builder was founded in 1945 in Akron, OH, with the goal of designing and building fine homes. Henry raised his family in Cuyahoga Falls and attended Central Mennonite College (now Bluffton University) before transferring to The Ohio State University. During the final years of his time at Cuyahoga Falls High School, Henry built houses with fellow teachers during the summer and sold them. This experience and passion for construction inspired him to start his own business focused on designing and building custom homes. Today, Welty has evolved into a corporation that encompasses more than just construction and continues to grow year after year. #history #welty #akronohio #celebrating80years
