We are proud to share that we have officially re-certified as a B Corp! This accomplishment is a testament to our team and our commitment to continuous improvement, as B Lab's standards for certification become more challenging each cycle. Since our last recertification in 2021, we have taken significant steps to improve our commitment to our vision and purpose, sustainable business practices, ethical and inclusive people-focused programs, and community engagement. We launched the Seaflex line of products that contain 12 percent recycled ocean-bound and reclaimed plastic. We launched a line of treats products that utilize highly nutritious, typically discarded organ meats and our newest treats are sourced from regenerative ranches and processed close to the source. Family owned and operated since 1996, West Paw was the first company in the pet industry to attain Certified B Corp status in 2013 and been continuously certified ever since. Along the way, we've also become a registered Benefit Corporation with the State of Montana and helped launch the Pet Sustainability Coalition. We also continued to demonstrate a commitment to our employees and community by offering living wage compensation, more paid time off for wellness and volunteering (and just flexibility for life events), helped build a dog park at Bozeman’s newest city park, and launched a dog parade with proceeds going to local animal shelters in conjunction with Bozeman’s major summer arts event and parade. A Certified B Corp is a designation that a business is meeting high standards of verified performance, accountability and transparency on factors from employee benefits and charitable giving to supply chain practices and input materials. To achieve certification, a company must: --Demonstrate high social and environmental performance by achieving a B Impact Assessment score of 80 or above and passing B Lab’s risk review. --Make a legal commitment by changing their corporate governance structure to be accountable to all stakeholders, not just shareholders, and achieve Benefit Corporation status, if available in their jurisdiction. West Paw is registered as such in the state of Montana. --Exhibit transparency by allowing information about their performance measured against B Lab’s standards to be publicly available on their B Corp profile on B Lab’s website. The B Corp movement continues to grow, from just over 1,000 companies certified in 2013, to now more than 7,000 worldwide! #westpaw #certifiedbcorp #madeintheusa

West Paw is proud to give our employees paid time off to vote! This includes time to study the candidates and the issues, as well as time to vote early, by mail, or in person on Election Day. We also provide resources to our employees so they can research, search for their polling location, and know the deadlines for registration and mail in ballots. We're part of the national Make Time to Vote movement, a non-partisan movement by the for-profit business community to increase voter participation in our country's elections. Halloween at West Paw was Spooktacular! We had humans in costume, dogs in costume, and pumpkins were carved! While everyone did a great job with their costumes, our costume contest winners were Production Team Member Jolen with her Broken Doll costume and Nico the Goldendoodle as Ed Sheeran! West Paw is hosting Belgrade Middle School for tours of our facility on National Manufacturing Day! Over 90 students will have a chance to learn more about our sustainable manufacturing, innovative product designs, the different jobs at a company, and see how it's all made!
