I am, and always will be, a MORNING PERSON. I spent the first 10 years of my career on "the morning team," so it will always have a special place in my heart! Now, I'm looking for someone to lead our morning team here at WGAL 8 TV. If you're looking for an Executive Producer opportunity, message me ASAP! Let's talk mornings!

So incredibly proud of the passion and commitment to excellence in local broadcast journalism that resonates through the entire WGAL 8 team. Congratulations to all who contributed to tonight’s 4 Mid-Atlantic Regional Emmy Awards including Best Morning Newscast and Best Evening Newscast as well as individual recognitions for Katelyn Smith and Susan Shapiro. And what an honor to celebrate the career accomplishments of WGAL’s own Ron Martin as he received the most prestigious NATAS Board of Governors Award.

Electrical Engineering Student at Elizabethtown College and Aspiring Audio Engineer

To celebrate National Intern Day, I wanted to speak about my engineering internship at WGAL 8 TV this summer! I have learned so many new things about the behind the scenes of television and met so many amazing and kind people. I would like to thank everyone in the engineering and technical departments for being such great mentors and welcoming me with open arms to the world of television, especially Angela Pereira-Bailey and Gil Geer. I have done a variety of different things while I have been here. I was included in the launch of a new BitCentral system, shadowed several live (and breaking) news casts from the perspectives of directors, audio, teleprompter and camera operators, fixed a skycam that sits at the top of a 22 story building, soldered a lapel microphone, took apart a computer on my own, helped repair a satellite truck and so much more. Even the smallest skill of learning how to wrap a cable to increase longevity is something that I will make sure to remember. I still have one more week with this company, but it is definitely an experience that I will never forget.
